I dont have a clue what anime is-could someone please explain what this means?

Okay I will assume your serious for now and say anime is simply japanese animation and the most commonly heard of would be Neon Genesis Evangelion, Dragonball and I guess Sailor Moon.

don't forget them shit-awful shows like beyblade, digimon (digi-shit), pokemon (poke n' probe), and card captors (card cockers).

What's wrong with those shows? They provide ample entertainment in the mornings and afternoons. Mind you I would rather watch Trigun anyday instead.

Anime comes in all shapes forms and colors...

like here we have are power ranger's, our X-files, 24, and all are other north american TV shows...

Same thing in Japan exept there cartoons...

Usaly "Anime" cartoon is its own style of drawing, they tend to have large eyes to show more facial expresion. In north american people tend to think cartoons are only for children but you can really tell a story alot more freedem by drawing so really anime are TV shows from a different nation like how in China they have really crappy movies and tend to download subbed movies from north america (Yes I am saying that North America has really crappy TV shows.

I'll be honest, I actually enjoyed pokemon before it became the biggest kids thing ever, Now I cant even look at one of the things without wanting to retch.

in my personal opinion, the only good animes worth watching are those that are
a) non-translated
b) have the old-school plot (senseless violence, carnage and mayhem)
c) actually make sense
d) do not go on forever

my suggestion for a good anime to watch would be love hina or the original sailor moon series. of course, you can only get love hina untranslated but with sub-titles.

Anime is such a pile of shit i can't bear to watch it!
i grew up with cartoons such as transformers, loony tunes, tom & jerry, etc.
all of a sudden this anime crap rose and it's all stupid facial expressions, stupid poses, massive beads of sweat the look like another head and stupid story lines that make no sense.
in transformers, the stooge characters (blur, bumblebee, etc) looked like all the other characters in the detail field...in anime, the main characters tend to look human whereas the stooges look all deformed and retarded...what a crock of shit!

in conclusion...anime is shit...give me tom & jerry anyday!!!

Wait a minute... wasn't Transformers originally an anime? It didn't catch on in Japan, but ove rhere in the States it was good stuff.

And I liked Transformers too, but that doesn't stop me from watching the occasional anime (I cannot abide Pokemon in any way, shape or form, and while Yu-Gi-Oh is okay, it's annoying how they keep gloating and exhorting various principles of honor and such while I'm trying to figure out how those holo-projectors work.)

if you watched transformers, you watched anime. tom & jerry was originally a japanese show as well, because the japanese ate cats and mice. so, they decided to make a show about a cat trying to eat a mouse. some dumbass saw the show, came to the USA, and made an american version of it. how do i know this? 'cause i'm bloody smart.
