how to live a month off 20 dollers
in my many years being a poor ass bachelor ive learned how to eat like a king with minimal cashflow.
things u need:
20 dollers
transportation(optional)
a sams club membership
first of all this is a rough template. prices may very a bit. ahh sams club how i love u. sams club has we poor people like to call bulk. u can go buy a cube of 30 packs of ramen noodles for 4 dollers. i dont know about u but 1 cube of ramen dosnt cut it for me. i almost always eat 2 at a time so thats 2 cubes a day for 30 days. for a total of 8 dollers. now were down to 12 dollers. so theres your food for a month but ramen every day can be annoying at best. so we want alittle variety. next is one of my favs. the gas station hot dog. almost everywhere in the US ive been has had the 2 for 99c deal. they also give free condiments with hot dog purchases. so just stuff your pockets with catsup, mustard, relish ect ect. that can be done once a week or even twice a week for another 8 bucks which leaves us with 4 dollers. next is the drink trick. go to your nearest fast food place that has a drink station in the lobby. next go up and buy a small or med. drink. this will run u from a doller to a buck 50. so now your down to 2.50 cents. this allows u unlimited refils. just take the cup back to the fast food place when u want drink. they cant do anything about it, i used to work at mcdonalds and i asked my manager if there was anything we could do if someone asked for a cup for water(which mind u also works u wont have to spend the money but they often give u shit small cups) and then got soda. she said no cept ask them to leave. and ill tell u this no one gave a shit. they were to busy taking orders and making food. u could even get a collection of cups from different resturants and go to each of them a different day. so were down to 2 dollers and 50 cents. this is candy money. go to a doller store or around here its called deals. nothing in the store is over a doller. go in there and get a shit load of candy for that 2 bucks. which leaves u with 50 cents. what to do with this 50 cents. well simple, go to a crowded place and buy a news paper. cept dont just take 1 news paper take the whole lot of them. sell them for a discount of 25 cents to the crowd. say theres 10 papers, 25c a peice is 2.50 cents. which can be more candy money or what ever u want to put it twards. good luck
bonus material
heres a dirty trick i learned while walking around my town. dunken donuts cant keep there donuts over night. at the end of the day they have to take there stock and ditch them in the dumpster. all u have to do is wait in the dumpster and have a garbage bag at the ready. this will get u POUNDS of old donuts. but there not bad donuts there just aged a bit. u can talk to the guy and pay him a fiver for the extra donuts. also at gas stations there are donuts that late at night they have to eather give away or throw away. be nice ask the cashier what there going to do with thouse donuts. or be a dick and complain that this donut is old and crusty why should i have to pay for it. and bakeries do the same thing donut stores do. they throw out so much damn bread its a crying shame. literaly garbage bags full of good bread.
and there u have it how to eat like a king for a month with only 20 bucks.

Instead of paying for the drink, go to Subway for some water, they'll give you a cup and they don't watch you to make sure you get water. That is, if the water is at the same place at the drink dispensers.
Or you could just know some people that work at fast food retaurants and get 5 Big Macs for $2 or something like that.

Re: how to live a month off 20 dollers
Too bad a Sam's Club membership costs a lot And about taking baked goods from the dumpster, wont they be dirty and such? Personally, a good way to get food is to participate in a local campaign such as Food Not Bombs, (http://www.foodnotbombs.net/), and you can find a location near you at http://www.foodnotbombs.net/contacts.html

the donuts in the trashcan arnt dirty if u catch them directly in the bag. just wear dark clothing that u dont mind if it gets ruined and wait with an open bag.

Re: how to live a month off 20 dollers
When i worked at a crappy Tesco Servery i learnt that in Britain thanks to health and safety you have to have seperate (and more expensive) bags to dispose of food or edibles with. These food rubbish bags are thicker and alot tougher so that rats don't chew through them and create a colony out the back of the shop- i believe that for larger bakeries and cafes its law to use these bags for food. Also- the shop won't put inedible shit into the bags because the bags are like 75p each and are smaller than regular bin bags so its not cost effictive- when i was on the later shift they told us distinctly not to use the thicker bags for regular waste. I don't know about bin diving- but me and the other lot who worked with me often took the fruit, salads, cakes and sometimes the sarnies or mini meals home for supper.
psycho_8b- try Aldi, Lidl or Cost-co for cheap generic brand or foriegn food. When i left school and started working i moved from job to job and i barely got a good wage, so i went to those shops for my food. You can buy tins of german heinz baked beans for 8p, boxes of 30 walkers salt and vinegar crisps which have all the writing in Arab for 2, french tins of cambells condensed soup for 20p or even 12 packs of Italian (i think) pot noodles for a pound. You can live very cheaply is you don't mind labels or slightly out of date food.

if i was that poor, i would be a sperm donor. You can get up to 80 dollars for one time. I am not sure how many times you can do it, but if it wre infinite, i would be set for life. Doing what i like to do best, and making tons of money from it.

Yeah, but you'd better be Superman, 6-foot-tall Harvard graduate, or they'll turn you and your little friends away at the door. And in Canada, they don't give you any money for donating blood.

I never said you got $20 for giving blood. You can do it more than once a month, though.

There is a local clinic that will give you $20.00 for blood plasma. You can donate twice a week. That's $2,080.00 tax free dollars a year if you do go twice a week.

I think that where I live the $20. is a first time incentive to get new people in there and it is less after that. ABOUT FOOD. I camped out in the remote mountains for months at a time, maybe made it into a town for supplies once a month at most. Bread was something that would not keep SO, I got a receipe for American Indian Fry Bread from an Am. Indian woman. (find it on the web) FLOUR is a very inexpensive commodity and even free at food give away programs. With a bag of flour and some baking powder, a little bit of sugar and cooking oil (vegetable oil) I would make a 2-3 day supply of fry bread in a frying pan and put it in a plastic bag and have fresh bread for a month or more. You can make it sweet like doughnuts or even add things to it like wild berries and stuff. Another option is to use sourdough and just keep a fermentation process going. Rice is an excellent commodity.

ClydeR, found a recipe for fry bread, was wondering if that's the one you use? quote:
Navajo Fry Bread
Serving Size : 8
4 cups All-purpose flour 1 tablespoon Double-acting baking powder 1 teaspoon Salt 1 1/2 cups Water 1 cup Vegetable shortening In a bowl whisk together the flour, the baking powder, and the salt, stir in the water, and knead the mixture on a floured surface until it forms a soft but not sticky dough. Let the dough stand, covered with a kitchen towel, for 15 minutes. Pull off egg-size pieces of the dough and oat and stretch them into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Poke a hole with a finger through the center of each round so that the breads will fry evenly. In a large heavy skillet heat the shortening over moderately high heat until it is hot but not smoking, in it fry the rounds, 1 at a time, for 2 minutes on each side, or until they are golden, and transfer the breads as they are fried to paper towels to drain. Check out some of Kurt Saxon's books; if you retain that information, you'll be able to live off of $20 a month easily.
peace out. sph3ric pyramid.

Re: how to live a month off 20 dollers
well i guess it is good that my mom teaches on the Navijo Reservation, i get fry bread all the time, it is real easy to make, it is better to cook outside cuz it smokes up your house. Tortillas are better becuase you don't need oil.
