at least i think its called a gilly suit is what there called. anyway in the movies u see the snipper crawling though the bushes with a suit that has all sorts of little flaps and shit on them. what that does is it camoflages u and it breaks up your body shape. i thought of a excellent way to make a gilly suit.

what u need:

1 very large burlap sack or a couple of burlap sacks.
1 sewing kit.
1 old pair of cloths from a thrift store or what ever.
a pile of branches and sticks, real or fake, i prefure fake they last longer.
1 roll of burlap cord.

heres where it gets tricky. u have to be a resonalby good sewer to get this done. first cut the burlap sack in half or cut it into strips. sew the strips VERY loosely to your shit set of cloths. only sew the edges of the sack to the cloths. do this to the whole body, if u want u can even get a hooded shirt and put it on the head. once thats finished take the sticks, fake or otherwise, and jam them though the sack, all over the place. thick spots thin spots here and there. then here comes hte hard part. sewing the sticks down. this will take a while, but if there fake then there most likely going to be plastic so it shouldnt be to hard to jam a burlap needle though it. once thats finished u have a full sniper shuit. use your head, make sure your cloths arnt bright or strange. a gilly suit only distorts your body shape not your color. this suit is great for paintball. all these items, cept the sewing kit, can be purchaced at Kmart, thrift stores ect ect for under 10 dollers. the fake plant brances might be hard to find though. good luck. feel free to throw in ideas of improvement.

Altrinate(sp?) with camo. Camo will help blend you into the background, if you have a particular area that you are going to be "sniping" in, scout it out first. Find the general theme of colors and set up areas that you will blend into better with the best visual of your victims.

I've made my own ghillie suit. It's not as easy as it sounds.

1. Get some old coveralls.
2. Get about 10 square yards of drab-colored heavy-duty burlap. Dark green, Brown, Medium green, a little light green.
3. Sew 1"/1" square netting onto every part of the coveralls.
4. Cut the burlap into strips ranging from 1' long to 4" long. Tie to the netting.
5. Frey burlap, attach fake plants/leaves.
6. Come up with a hood/hat that is VERY bushy. This is very important.
7. If you don't have trouble moving around, you need to add more burlap.


If you're using this for paintballing, pick a suitable place where you know the enemy comes through. Lay prone, and cover your back with leaves. Paintball guns are inaccurate as hell, so make sure you have a clean shot.

You can do one of two things:

Wait until they pass, and if you're VERY covered, shoot a 2-round burst towards the easiest target. Freeze still

Or

Wait until they get VERY close, but not entirely facing you. Begin unloading at them. Chances are you'll take out 2-4 of them (which is very efficient) before they spot and tag you.

cut holes so that you can stick ur guns out

take leaves from trees or plants where you
want to operate in...
get the leaves on the net...

paint your face, hand with the camo color
wrap your gun's parts with leaves/branches
or color it using the camo...

now stay in bushes and snipe...

dont forget to camo your hat/helmet

Get a fake plant, screw it to a board, tie the board to your back, get up run for a little bit then lay down on your stomach. use 'ye olde method of burlap too. i saw 20 people rise up out of a rice field from nowhere.

That's against regulations in paintballing. Even if you're playing with friends, they wouldn't want you to do that. How are they going to tag you out? They can't, it's impossible.

i may have to try making one of those suits...they sound kinda funky!!!

or you can do what i do...if you are having paint wars or paintball games and you go to a certain private place...go there in the night alone and dig some holes to jump in, make some collapsable hidouts and wear camo...every so often add different types of foliage depending on where you are...because most plants only grow in certain parts of the forest or where ever you are playing.

i think i may have to add that funky suit to my kit!!!
