Go to the BME website and read up on it. They have hundreds of stories from people that do their own piercings, even prince alberts and shit like that.

The labret is fine. Use good jewlerry. ( Wildcat is the best) and use titanium, as it's lighter, and less bio-toxic than surgy steel.

don't pierce your upper lip. Its got a lot of facial and hair nerves running through it. Do it wrong and you can break a nerve, and you'll lose your hair.

Sounds like bollocks but its true. If anyone remembers duncan goodhue, the olympic swimmer, he's bald cos he fell out of a tree when he was a kid, and split his upper lip up to his nose. thats how all his hair fell out.

I say pay a professional piercer to do it for you. Would you rather spend a few bucks and have something done right safely or do it yourself and risk having a horrifying piercing that just looks bad and gets infected and oozes puss everywhere?

Any peircing can and will get infected. I sometimes act as a model for John Archibold, who's know as probably the best peircer in europe, but even his piercings to septic if you don't clean up.

Loads of people have pierced their noses, the sides that is. Its far far better to use a hypodermic needle, as it takes out a thin tube of flesh, so the piercing doesn't squeese and hurt all the time, but if you use a needle, make sure it's bigger than the jewlerry. Use 1.2mm or 1.6mm ( maybe a bit big) but nothing else. make sure your needle is slightly over size, and makesure you do it level, or it'll look shite.

The spetum, the bit in the middle of your nose, is by far and away the most painful place on your body to pierce. Stay well away.

Nipples. Girls are pretty painless, and have been done for thousands of years, so no problem there. Most guys find the nipples the second most painful piercing after the septum, and they stay sore for a while, so i personally would get them done at a desent shop.
btw, the white puss is normal. Only worry if it's green.
