It takes alot to detonate it. NO a low explosive will not work, and as ive said before many times(you would know this if you would have searched) it is weak and not worth the effort and waste of chemicals it takes to detonate it.

KClO3 and petroleum jelly will make an explosive. The resulting explosive is even less sensitive than ANFO which itself is a real pain to detonate.

1 gram of PETN will easily detonate it. I would go with mixing it with fuels, becuase if you wanted to detonate the potassium chlorate, you would have to go through the trouble of making the primary explosive. Plus, explosives using kclo3 are powerful.

PETN can not be detonated by flame or fuse. Just making that clear. I also seriously doubt that 1 gram of anything will set off KClO3+petroleum jelly.

I dont know how he did it but maddog did it with PETN. Anybody know maddogs555 site address? I am not sure if it is his, but it show some pictures of him detonating some chlorate/vasoline mixture with a little under a gram of PETN.

He doesn't have any HE stuff on his site anymore, or at least it isn't linked from the main page.

Keep this in mind; the writer of that book blew off his hand and then killed himself by means of pyrotechnics.

Kurt Saxon also had an accident, 3 fingers missing on one of his hands. But it makes you wonder, how could one be experienced enough in the feild of pyrotechnics to make armstorngs mix but then try to grind it up in a mortar and pestle?

He did lost some fingers being a dumbass and grinding armstrongs like 6C said, but I think he died (or maybe just dying and not dead?) of lung cancer or something.

Either way, don't put too much faith in PMJB.

it is potassium chlorate and red phospherous, and instead of sulfer, it usually contains antonimy trisulfide.
