A couple of questions
1. Where can i get lead balls for my ball mill? Can i use steel balls instead? how big do the balls have to be? would glass marbles work?
2. How dangerous is AP? I know it is sensitive to friction and stuff but HOW sensitive is that? Rate it from 1 to 10.
3. Is there and explosive that is more powerful then flash powder that is relativly easy to make and isn't sensitive? Something that could be set off with flash powder and BP?
4. I've heard potassium chlorate and vasiline mixed together is an explosive. How powerful is it? What could i use to detonate it?
5. Has anyone used the formulas from United Nuculear for stars in fireworks? Do they work?
Thanx in advance for ur replies!

Re: A couple of questions
1. For lead you could use lead fishing weights or lead bullets for blackpowder rifles. Steel is probably too hard and glass might chip and give you little shards mixed in with your powder.
2. 1-10 doesn't work unless you are comparing it to something else. 1=NI3? 10=ANFO? You can't really make up a number like that. I'd say just be VERY careful about friction and don't drop it (duh). I haven't made it myself, but I'm order some glassware soon and will make it then...
3.Not really.

2. How dangerous is AP? I know it is sensitive to friction and stuff but HOW sensitive is that? Rate it from 1 to 10. On a scale for 1 being not at all, and 10 being extremely. Probly a 6-7.

4. I've heard potassium chlorate and vasiline mixed together is an explosive. How powerful is it? Its nearly an le, so not very, but more so than flash. What could i use to detonate it? Ap
5. Has anyone used the formulas from United Nuculear for stars in fireworks? Do they work? yes they work.

Re: A couple of questions
1. Actually, I've used marbles in my ball mill and haven't had them chip (or blow up the mill).
2. AP is some pretty sensitive stuff. Nothing like NI3, but you still don't want to drop it. Also, if you spill some, don't do something dumb like use your hand to brush it off.
3. is still no. You can have either the low-sensitivity or the easy-to-make part, not both.
4. That is a pretty useless explosive, my mind. It isn't exceptionally powerful and it is quite a pain to detonate.
5. Just about everything on UN is true.

Re: A couple of questions
i use sling shot ammo, and they are steel. I ahvent had any problems with it yet, but DO NOT ball mill mixtures. Just ball mill oxidizers separate from fuel. The mustket ammo works really good, but after a while(about once avery two months) you need to buy more becuase they start to break into peices and mix in with your chemicals, and it effects the performance of them.

Re: A couple of questions
Go to a gun shop for lead balls. I got some triple-ought buckshot which is smaller than a half-inch, but it works fine. Don't use steel shot if you plan to mill bp, but it works fine for individual substances.

Re: A couple of questions
I'll answer the ones that I know
2) Ap is dangerous and will get more sensative the more you keep it. Dropping large amounts will get it to most probably lead to a premature detonation. 7/10
well, I guess thats it for now because I am in a rush
