Satisfaction through big fireballs...
I read EP's thing about propane balloons on KP. I have a MAPP gas torch, so I made a ballon and set it off off with a firecracker. Very satisfying. Also looked like some kind of special effect from a movie.

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
Ya, I call them movie effects on my site, a more profectional name I think. Does anyone know if I could just tape a firecracker to a baggy of gas and get a fireball from that?

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
i dont think a firecracker would make a very good fireball but an m-80 probably would if you set it under the bag

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
i think that the M-80 would explode too quickly to ignite the gas. I think leaving some fuse or a sparkler burning nearby would insure the ignition of the gas.

Insomniac - no. You can make a pretty good fireball with the instructions Here.

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
i filled a balloon with propane untill it was a little bit bigger then a basketball. THAT'S a NICE fireball! It goes untill it is about 12-14 feet high (no kidding) and it is about 4 feet in diameter. i want to attach one to an M-80 and launch it into the air with a mortar. When the M-80 goes off there will be a fireball 50 feet in the air. that would look cool.

I know how to do that, I was just wondering if I could just ingite it with a salute or something, as it would probubly be easier and quicker. Another good way to make a fireball is to tape a cob or pipe charge or something to some flamible airisal can like wd40 or something.

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
If you are talking about igniting a balloon (or many balloons) with a salute, yes you can. I've set off several propane balloons at once using an M-80.
But you won't be able to "attach one to an M-80 and launch it into the air with a mortar" because a balloon isn't very aerodynamic...

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
a 12 inch balloon filled 1/1 with oxygen and propane is many times powerful as a M-80, but more dangerous.

Re: Satisfaction through big fireballs...
Anyone ever considered hydrogen? I know its pretty newbish, but it makes a nice bang (wear ear protectors, im fucking serious) and if you set it off in say a 2 liter pop bottle, it'll look pretty cool. Its much quieter in a ballon, though

Nope. When hydrogen burns, it releases more energy.
