I cant see how that is possible.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
"with 2 D engines, you could make about 15 M-80s" For it to be a true M80, it needs flash powder. Anyway, a roman candle that's plugged will probably just pop as the first lift charge ruptures the casing. Then the rest of the stars may shoot off normally or they might get stuck. I'd say it's a waste of time and a perfectly good candle. Roman candles are good sources of tubes, fuse, powder, and even a few stars, so I'd just dis-assemble it or use it normally.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
black powder is about as loud and powder, so the only difference between a M-80 filled with flash powder and a salute fill with black powder are the names. There is not much of a difference between them.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
To clarify, C class engines are usually the best value for the money. D engines contain more powder per rocket, but they only come two to a pack (the ones I've seen) and cost more than a pack of C engines. I've made black powder M-80 style salutes with black powder and had them work perfectly. Do it right and black powder is just fine for salutes.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
i am not sure, but a while ago, i say a web site on rockets, and they said that each C rocket has 12 grams of powder each. They said the D have 24 grams, but i am not sure. At the wal mart where I buy them, there was no price difference im between them.
Oh yeah, i use both, which ever powders i have. Like said by Zero and I, they both work perfectly when made right. I usually have black powder more, usually around 60 percent of my salutes are black powder. The rest is flash powder. I make both the black powder and the flash powder, and my black powder is usually better than the commercial black powder, so that helps too.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
so if Cs come in packs of 4 and have 12 grams of powder and Ds come in packs of 2 and have 24 grams of powder, and there both the same price, doesnt that mean in each pack theirs 48 grams of powder and no price difference? so their exactly the same. but Cs are easyier to crush so arent those better to get?, but then Cs have more paper to peel so that makes them equal again :O man im confused

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
no, the Cs come in packs of 3 over where i live. THe total would be 36 grams for the Cs, and 48 grams for the Ds. The Cs are easier to crush only becuase they are smaller. I like having more paper to unrap, mainly becuase i use that paper to roll my tubes. I usually dont use model rocket engines for powder, only when i am waiting for my chemicals to come in, or when i am doing experimenting.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
you can pay with cash with united nuclear and cannonfuse.com Those are the only places i order right now. All you have to do with both companies is make a list of what you want on a sheet of paper, wrap the money in the paper, and mail them the money and list, and they send the stuff back to you(except with united nuclear, it is smart to email them all the things you want, and then they send you back the total so you know how much money to send).

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
no, but i comes with instructions on how to quickly plug the tubes. I am guessing that it is just using cut off sections of a dowel.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
the dowels are easy plugs, just cut a 1/4 inch piece off, spread superglue all over the outside(except for the flat edges), and press into the tube.

Re: just a stupid possibly kewl question
United Nuclear, at least until they get this 8 ounce chemical limit lifted, should only be used as a last resort. For you without a credit card it just might be an option.
