Default Sulfer from Matches and Black powder

I mixed,very fine, sulpher from matches and black powder and it was a biger flash than just if i lit black powder on a table if i mix it would that be better or worse?

Matches only contain a small amount of sulfur. Most of the material on a match head is parafin, coloring, or potassium/sodium chlorate.
