Hey on halloween me and a friend wanna blow some things up but all hes got is about 50 bottle rockets. can anyone tell me any kinda of bombs we could make wit them? i have htought of a few
1. cut off the sticks on the rocket. Then just take the body and put them in a container untill the container is full(prob a cardboard container). you would make the wicks stickign out. You then cover the wicks with like a paper off the top of the container and put a fuse taped on the paper. you dig a hole, put it in the ground, then light the fuse. it will ignite with the paper, burning slowly but hitting all the wicks on the rockets causing them to explode all at once abd since there in a container and pointed down, they wont go anywhere and they will all explode, burning through the cardboard container and hopefully exploding a bigger hole in the ground
Would that work? Any other ideas involving using the rockets or taking htem apart for the powder or what?

Uh...how about you just clean out the whistle mix and make a big salute?

Yeah, just empty the bottle rockets. 50 whistlers will make a really big salute, so be careful.

bottle rockets are pretty much my only source of powder for solutes...i make all my shit out of them, mostly polumnas but some m80's. they work like a charm and are pretty powerful if you know how to make 'em. have someone over 18 buy you some gunpowder and tip them like 5 bucks, thats what i always do. for easy shit you CAN NOT beat a cob...i heart cobs

Yeah, the whistle mix burns faster than 95 percent of all flash powder, maybe even faster than 7/3. It does work really good in polumnas. I save my BP or flash powder(6/4 KNO3 magnesium) for M-80s.

Ok for the previous two posters i suggest the edit button its the one that has a peice of paper and a pencil as its icon Bmx: yes posting a new post increases your count but for something as stupid as that just fix the error to avoid looking like an idiot and P_Dub : same to you it is salute instead of solute not that im so high above you or anything there is probably a short list of mistakes in this very pos but just a hint

on your kno3/magnesium flash, do you measure by weight and does it really matter THAT much if you do it by volume? and if it does has anyone done the weight ---> volume conversion or could somebody do it i really cant get to a scale nor can i afford to buy one

I have seen some pretty good digital scales at wal mart for 30 dollars, or some diet scales that are pretty good for 4 dollars. A new place called deal opened near me, and they sell the same ones as wal mart, but they are only 1 dollar. So yes, it does matter if you measure by weight.

Whistle mix isn't as fast as 70/30 flash. I can assure you of that.

Metal fuels take higher temperatures to ignite, so there is a lot slower flame propaganda. Real good whistle mix burns a tiny, tiny bit faster than flash powder, but isnt as good in salutes because it doesnt release as much heat and gases.

Nick, if whistle was really as good as you think it is, why do all the pros use flash?

Not all the pros use flash powder. Some pros even use BP. Anyways, I said the burn rate was the same, or a little bit bigger, but the flash powder is a little better becuase it releases more heat.

And the results are...
All that really happened was a few small "bangs" but the most exciting part was all the smoke. This idea produced a lot of smoke and I think its a good idea for a smoke bomb. I only used 6 bottle rockets too.
I'll post the movie of it happening later

6 is enought to make 1 M-80. Why did you waste it? Take some pliers and squeeze the white stuff out, put it in a thick case and plug the ends and you got a M-80.

it's ok i guess what type of bottle rockets do you use ? the ones i have are like a BP or pyrodex and it all is in powder form and then it has a flash powder report

Hell yeah it does! Half a pound of charcoal takes up about 4 times as much space as 1 pound of potassium nitrate.
