Some guy in OZ just got on the news.

he was camping with mates and made one of those beer can mortars (can filled with plaster). Assume using blackpowder.

anyway he set it off and it blew up the mortar itself sending metal through his leg (which he lost) fragment hit the gas cyclinder on his caravan (which blew up) destroying his caravan.

u think he would have used a fuse & hid with his mates behind the car (which was damaged from schrapnel)

a good lesson to show the need for care i think.

I bet the media left out a lot of important facts and exagerated the whole thing.

Either which way, he's apparently not the sharpest tooth in the 'croc...

I suppose it will all boil down to yet more restrictions on Aussies and New Zealanders for a while.

I saw some kids on TV who filmed themselves setting a police car on fire and the guy poured gasoline into the car and then lit the match and put it in the car with his bare hands! (wouldn't you have the sense to throw it?) and then if that wasn't bad enough they ran away and left the camera behind!

Well like i said its hard for gas to explode, if they just poured it on they would have no trouble lighting it with their hands.

Damn you, that is horrible, now i will never make anything again, at least till those pictures get out of my head, arg. Rat showed me that a while ago to i finally forgot and now its works i saw a boby in 15 bajillion differnt peaces.

I have also made one of the beer can mortars, but I didn't have it blow up. Maybe he was just stupid and put in way too much powder and capped the ends or used a UV damaged tube.

would like to clafify that the 'Gas' cylinder was a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cyclinder not petrol. if u thought i meant gas as in petrol.

They said the cylinder was punctured by the explosion.

and yeah, its only what i heard off the news.
