Al mesh size
I am planing on ordering some al powder and i emaild the dued that sells it. this is the info i got about it.
Aluminium Powder is 99.7% pure Aluminium Sieve Analysis: +75um: 0-2% -75um +45um: balance -45um 60-80%
Average particle size (D50): 45um Bulk density: 1250kg/m3
mesh size: -325 mesh 50% -200 mesh 50%
I guess it could be described as a very fine talc powder. It makes an excellent paint additive or inclusion to resin
The mesh size is 325 200 mesh but he describes it as talc powder like. Do u think it is wort paying $28.10 for 500g worth?

Re: Al mesh size
No. You can buy a kilo of 425-550 mesh that's made for flash from a pyrotechnics supplier for that much.
200 mesh probably won't work well for flash powder unless you have a really good oxidizer, and I'm willing to wager that the stuff he's selling is spherical particle anyway.

Re: Al mesh size
#25 can make a good flash powder, but Zero is right, it is probably spherical anyways, which such for flash powder. The price would be pretty good if the mesh was higher, and if you didnt need an id.

Re: Al mesh size
You can use spherical in flash, but unless it is not higher than 400 mesh, it wouldnt be that good. Even 400 mesh sp. would only be equal to a flash with 300 mesh flake.
