Does anyone have any good Ideas for electric ignitors? I've got a Estes rocket launcher thing(you arm it with a key, then hit the button), so maybe all I need to Know is how to Make E-matches and stuff. Try not to make it to confusing, I'm not an electronics genious.

Why don't you just buy the igniters that go with the model-rocket launcher? They come in packs of 6 at anywhere they sell model-rockets. They're relatively cheap and safe, and they put out enough fire to light most pyrotechnic devices.

Draggo, you can make an electrical igniter that's very similar to the Estes type. All you need is NiChrome wire, or the wire that's wound around the inside of a toaster. Just go to a Goodwill/Discount Store and buy an old cheap toaster, dismantle it and there's your wire!

Clip it in 2 inch sections and connect one to the clips on the Estes handheld. It should glow red hot.

Then again, I've yet to do this, this is all theory since everything in this forum is done in our dreams.

I think you should mention the sources of your info (like that AP and flash pages) at the beginning rather than the end. And I'm assuming you didn't ask to copy those...

The rocketry stuff is pretty good, there aren't many sites with both pyro and rockets (mine shall have rockets soon hopefully).

i get a peice of straw, stick a few strands of steel wool threw the middle cram a ball of al-foil in one end, fill some of the rest up with bp or something then put some al-foil in the other end.

I= straw O=al-foil |=steel wool x=explosive

When u want to use it i shove 2 alligator clips to each end and connect it to a small 9v battery.
