 how many liters in a galon??
i would like to know how many liters in a galon as i am buying 1/2 a galon of nitric acid from an american website.
And me being an australian i have no idea how many liters in a galon or visa versa.

Would you be able to tell me which company you're ordering from, and the concentration of the acid?
you can get 70% nitric acid from hydroponics stores in Australia, and I don't think theres too tight restrictions on higher concentrations through chemical suppliers.
Are you getting sulfuric acid as well? Do you know anywhere to get >90%?

dude go to a jewler and buy some or somewhere that sells metal dectors or mining goods. they use it to test if its gold or not.

Boil the acid to concentrate it. Batteries contain H2SO4 as well.

i have now decided not to buy from america thanks to the helpful hints on where to get acid from, from None, Static_firefly, Aechean and 6C.
i want it sooner than the 10-12 weeks shipping time anyway.
