there's more then one way to make bp and one way replaces sulfur or potassium nitrait with sulfur or potassuim perchlorate, look in the anachiast cookbook-exlosives

BP is pottasium or sodium nitrate, charcoal, and sulfur ONLY! Perchlorate should work, but is usually harder to find. I'm not sure if perchlorates react with sulfur like chlorates do, but I think they don't. I wonder if KMnO4 will work in a BP like comp.? And perchlorate will work, but will be a lot more powerful and fast, and may need less oxidizer. The E.P.I.D. has something like this, but I just got rid of it from my favorites.

ya, ok, i got that, but u need to use the ball mill method or can u do it safely by hand, like do they have to be crushed up real fine.

I imagine it would work, but at what cost?

Perchlorates are quite expensive compared to nitrates (potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate for black powder, anyway). If you have potassium perchlorate you're much better off using it with a better fuel like aluminum powder.

Perchlorates are far more stable than chlorates (though less stable than nitrates). They don't react badly with sulfur as far as I know, but don't quote me. Permanganates, sulfur, and a hygroscopic material (KNO3) would be a bad idea. I don't suggest anyone try that.

#1 i suggest you go back to school you drop-out
#2 i suggest you kick the shit out of your english teacher
#3 drop the fucking cook-book and read some real information there is a topic on this page or a page back (lets compose a list of sites) that has a shit load of good information unlike the 'kewl' shit you read
#4 please don't post stuff that was in or was part of the anarchist shitbook ! and do not read any shit ass old text files telling you to get high off of bannana peals and peanut shells ! if your unsure as to a formula that sounds acurate post it here but is sounds like complete shit like makeing a rocket say out of a shot gun shell ! just drop it before you blow your head off ... better yet go blow your head off ...

im osrry i had to get some of that anger out of me .. these kewls are really getting to me and they keep swarming in by the thousands

Warweed, I suggest you see a licensed counselor. Anyway, here's the way to make BP like a pro:
Take 75% potassium nitrate, 15% air-float charcoal and 10% sulfur and ball-mill it for at least 6hrs. This will leave a relatively fine powder which is good for some pyrotechnic uses, but to make granulated BP, you need to SLIGHTLY moisten this powder and press it (I'd say in between 2 boards with bricks on top), then wait until this is fully dry and crush up the resulting "brick" of BP.

Yeah, you can use perchlorates safely with sulfur. I read that a chlorate-sulphur can actually detonate, even in fairly small quantities.

peace out.

Well, here was my experience on Black powder:

The very first formula I used was the CIA method from the A-files, but unfortunately, I had very poor results. I did a little more research and found a more "common" CIA method which worked fantastically better.

The common (I have seen it a few times before, hence me calling it common) method which I had success with, involves soaking the powder in water, simmer it, and then dump it into cold alcohol stir, let stand for 5 minutes, and pour the slurry through a cloth, and squeeze out the excess liquid, so you are left with a moist lump of powder and then let it dry.

I am not trying to diss you Zero but, I think you A-files method is a little.....um flawed.

To what, make gun powder? If you found the right places, you could make 5 pounds for 20 dollars.
