Re: answer my questions damnet
1) A "kewl". As people define it around here.
Flaming people uncessarily when a question has already been answered, and thinking it's cool to bash on people with your utter lack of sophisticated flaming tech. and extreme lack of imagination in addition to your poor grammar fits right in with the stereotype of a "kewl" 11-year old wannabe from bombshock that came over when the idiots over there dumped his ass.
2) A pie fucking lamer who has neither contributed nor asked anything thus far that would be of value asides from your idiotic and pathetic flames.

Re: answer my questions damnet
so why not ban kewls? you people hate them or rather are bothered by them so why not, when they come on ban them with an email telling them to search a little then re-register? i think it could work or if nothing else lower the number of kewls in this forum also, would it be possible to ban them from just b. balistics? or perhaps resrict them to bad ideas? i think this could work.

Re: answer my questions damnet
Quite true.
It doesn't mean you have to be a jackass about it, though.
When I fill cratermakers they'll take about .3 ounces of black powder. (52 cratermakers from one 1 pound can of powder.)I haven't a clue how many shotgun shells that would be. A box of shells usually specifies how much powder (in grains) is in each shell, so all you'd have to do is multiply it out.

Zero just did... Just don't fill the cratermaker all up, fill it to about 3/4. When I first started here I was kewl but I lurked and learned.

Re: answer my questions damnet
Why not use a simple cardboard tube. Anyways, it would take about 10 grams, or about 1 tablespoon or black powder to fill it all the way up, but it only needs to be filled up 1/2 way to 3/4 to make a loud boom with a powerful shockwave, but filling it up will make it more powerful.

Re: answer my questions damnet
Mine take far more than one tablespoon, NickSG.
You can use small lengths of copper pipe for casings. Cut out a short piece, drill a fuse hole in it, and crimp both ends. Fill it through the fuse hole (so as not to set off the explosive while you're beating on the filled pipe with a hammer) and you're all set.

a crater maker is made by using a co2 cartriage it would not be a crater maker if it did not use a cartraige

Re: answer my questions damnet
For me, it takes 1 tablespoon of black powder to fill up a CO2 cannister enough so it makes a LOUD boom and a powerful shockwave, but it usually takes about 2 tablesppons to fill it up.

Re: answer my questions damnet
Either your walls werent thick enough, the plugs werent thick enough, the fuse hole was too big, or that black powder was crappy. Whistle mix and flash powder both do much better in cobs and cardboard tube salutes, but I wouldnt use flash powder in a cob.
It is usually more powerful to fill it all the way up, but 3/4 is probably the best.
