nitro glycerine
(speaking as though i have done this but i promise you i havent)
225 mil water 127 mil distilled 39 mil sulphuric acid 13 mil nitric acid
2 ice baths
add sodium bi-carb to the distilled water.
place the nitric acid in an ice bath and the slowly add the sulphuric acid...
does this sound correct so far. cos i have this from a text file that doesnt seem to good. if it is then i will finish how to make it.
i dont want to make this EVER, but knowledge is power

Re: nitro glycerine
If you dont know how to make nitro then you shouldnt even be here. and on a side note where the hell is the glycerine...that recipe is fucked up you most likely got it from someone who stole crap from the A. cookbook.

Like the man from Russia said, "where is the glycerine?" Not much bang otherwise.

Re: nitro glycerine
Yes, that is indeed a bit off. If you're nitrating things you're obviously going to need to nitrate something. In that ingredient list you have nothing to nitrate.

Re: nitro glycerine
went to google, typed in nitroglycerine and that is what i got...
this whole bomb genre like this does not interest me but i could always remember being told about boiling soap to put in the mix. so naturally i was sceptical.
i take more fun in whistle powder FP and BP
i like pyrotechnics more

Re: nitro glycerine
no boris, more to do with the basic dismantling of rockets and things like such, sadly england does not offer me many opportunities to do such things as there is not much of a market for these things here.
most of the time i have to pay big for any decent rockets, and even then they are nothing compared to "cold war ethics"

Re: nitro glycerine
in theory they should but in practise they probably don't.(but then again i have no idea i am just guessing)
and Agent Boris_KGB i also do not know how to make nitro off the top of my had but that is because i have 7 different recipies telling me to put different things in so i don't know which one to trust.
and RAOVQ where in which state of AUS do you live??

Uhm, maybe a recap into your chemistry textbook would be in order.

You need a catalist (sulferic acid) to help bind the HN03 and whatever you are nitrating. Also Nitroglicerine(SP) doent contain glycerin but it contains glycerol, its true name is glyserol trinitate. CTR

Has a NG synth, as well as many others. I would assume the pictures and alen's modership at E&W would be proof enough they work.

Aechean, I wouldn't encourage NG. I still wouldn't want any of you to try it, there are many *safer* alternitives. [This message has been edited by Rat_Bastard (edited 08-17-2002).]

Re: nitro glycerine
I don't encourage it either Rat Bastard. I beleive it has a greater chance of runaway nitration than other explosives. Then again RDX, CTAP, and NI3 arn't a good idea either unless you have an idea of what your doing. From what I heared NG is less sensitive than CTAP, just for a comparison. Its also very powerful and if runaway nitration occurs, extremely dangerous.
