Re: moth balls
depends if you have naphthalene moth balls or paradichlorobenzene moth balls the naphthalene are used for making lots of smoke and for getting rid of moths it is by no way close to smokeless black powder NONE WHAT SO EVER it is used in making smoke and lots of it rat has a topic on it some were if he reads this hopefully he will be nice and post the link cuz i can't find the link any were but any ways naphthalene is not at all like smokeless powder take a tube light a candle place the candle on the ground (not a tea light) and then place the tube over top and drop in some moth ball powder and watch a flame shoot out the top with thick dark smoke pouring out [This message has been edited by warweed12 (edited 08-06-2002).]

Re: moth balls
Go to the Pyrotechnicalities website. It has a bunch of information on making salutes and fountains.
by the way...why the hell would you make salutes with moth balls? use BP. or flash. or whistle mix, if that's all you have.
peace out. sph3ric pyramid.

Re: moth balls
The KNO3 is an oxidizer and allows the nap to burn better. So don't abdonen it if you want it to burn all that great.
