I was stuffing around the other day with granualised pool chlorine and i managed to get it burning, albeit poorly, anyone think this could be mixed with something to make it better ?


Oh does anyone know about some stuff called pyrodex ??? i know all about it - i wanted to know if anyone else has heard of it ?

Yes yes...Pyrodex. That is what they use in Rocket Engines, no? It's like black powder, only not as sensitive.

but i make it all the time it is
potassium permanginate ans sulphur if you can get good ingredients (I.e pure)
it burns pretty quick good in pipe bombs and the like.
I made it at school one day with my teacher and he had like the best chemicals, so we set it of in a watchglass and it melted a hole through it and into the desk so it is good if you got the right stuff.
I will try to make rockets with it this weekend see what happens !

Must not burn too fast if it burnt through the desk!

yeah if it is buring into through a watch glass and onto a table you would guess it did not combust very quickly


pyrodex is like black powder it is more stable towords friction and can be wet and dried and used again so it is a little bit of a diffrance but is pretty close

make it with large pot. permanganate crystals and it burns slow,
make it with pot. permanganate powder and it will burn nice and fast.
and as for the it burning through the watch glass -
we made it with crystals and powder (which was the crystals ground in a morter and pestle)the crystals got so hot it cracked the watch glass and melted the peices and they continued to burn through the table top (the hot glass)

and with powder it just went of in a flash and smashed the watch glass into very small peices and filled the room with sulphurous smoke - /too much smoke for the fume cupboard to handle\ -we also had strontium, copper and titanium flakes with it -(for effect)

Yea Pyrodex is like black powder but it isn't as sensitive IT is also used as a substitute in black powder guns and you can go buy it in any gun or sporting goods store for very cheap with little to know questions asked (you may have to be 18 to buy it not sure) but to be an idiot and talk about making bombs or home made cannonsmy friend did that and they banned him from the store(he is dumb as shit though) also you can get a better explosion in your bombs (then with black powder)
