Spud Gun ignition?!
i plan on making a spud-gun next weekend, and i'm wondering what is best used for ignition? I've heard of people using barbecue lighters, electric ignition, etc. etc. i'm wondering what would be the best? can anyone tell me?

Re: Spud Gun ignition?!
I use piezoelectric grill igniters. Other people swear by stunguns with extended contacts, and others with twist-flint lantern igniters.
I like the grill igniter method the best. It's cheapest, and works just fine if you do it properly.

Re: Spud Gun ignition?!
I prefer the grill ignitor/spark plug combination myself. Never had a misfire...
Stun Guns..... a new one on me. :-)

Re: Spud Gun ignition?!
yeah the electric grill ignitors are the best ones. hell i have had my potatoe gun for about 10 years and i havnt had to replace the ignitor. and i tried to make another one using the flint striker kind and it didnt work very well at all.
if i knew how to put a pic in a post on here i would show a pic i took of it. but anyways, yeah the electric grill ignitors are more preferable and reliable
