Default Sharpening Machete

I have a cheap Coleman machete, and i need to sharpen it. I saw it at K-Mart, it was $8, so i bought it. I have no use for it, but i bought it on principle alone =P. However, the blade is terrible. At present, the thing is pretty much worthless.

So, anyone know how to sharpen the blade?

i got a cheap machete too, from ace hardware. i sharpened mine with my bench grinder and a file from shop class that i took to more finely sharpen it. its quite sharp now.
if u dont have a bench grinder then just go get one of those shop type files (fine ones) . itll take longer but it works. i used a mill bastard type file.

A 'zip' sharpener will do the trick. You can get those at Kmart, too.

If you can keep the angle steady you can use a file, as well. If you don't mind standing there all day you can use a regular sharpening stone.
