Re: HMX (octogen)
You can make RDX(research department explosive) by nitrating hexamine (if you know how to nitrate something). HMX(her majestie's explosive) is made by nitrating a different compound, that I can't seem to track down. I tried to check out The Forum, but as you can see it is closed.....

Re: HMX (octogen)
tryptamine i heard RDX was royal demolition explosive. didnt know what HMX stood for. all i know is that you nitrate some compound in the presence of acetic acid, and that took me forever to find out.
and warweed i tried searching first otherwise i wouldnt have asked here. no im not planning on blowing up anything in specific. explosives are just a hobby.

Re: HMX (octogen)
HMX is made from a mixture of RDX and TNT (Tri-nitro-toluene). I don't recall what percentages need to be mixed, or how to do so. Sorry.

Re: HMX (octogen)
SineWave did you read the thread? I think we know what we are talking about when we say that HMX is a pure compound... Contrary to your anachists cookbook.
