CO2 Cartridges
I've got seven empty and 3 full. Now, What to do? I've already scored one so that's a crater maker. I think I'll try varies amoumts of match powder for four. But what to do with with the 2 remaining empty and 3 full?

Re: CO2 Cartridges
just be careful. these things are more powerful then you can imagine. shrapnel everywhere. i mean fast flying chunks of molten metal.

Re: CO2 Cartridges
Can you use epoxy to seal it after the fuze is put in?
I have 2 types of epoxy, normal & metal epoxy, what should I use?

Re: CO2 Cartridges
The cratermakers (CO2 cartredge bomb) need a strong sealant or else the combustion push out the weak glue out the end and go WOOOSHHH!!!! instead of exploding the CO2 cartredge.
You need a STRONG selant for STRONG containers.
Glue guns work great for paper-tube explosives but not for strong metal contaners.

wtf are you talking about??? have you ever even made a cratermaker? i never have any type of sealant at all and they always go off with a BOOOOM not a "WOOOSHHH". as long as the hole is small then the pressure will build up and burst the container before it excapes(sp?). you have no idea what your talking about so stop giving the wrong information.

Lol, That's the first time I've heard someone tell rat_bastard he doesn't know what he's talking about. Well, exept for thatdarnkiddavid, "My Dad's a laywer Duh! I know they can't even search my house without poof!"

Re: CO2 Cartridges
well he may have some idea what he is talking about but i stand by my statement. the one way i may be wrong is that if you use match heads, but i still think that the metal will burst as it does with bp. and i remember thatdarnkiddavid, that was some funny shit.

useing hot glue on a explosive i would not suggest that plus the BP inside could explode never know just a thought

Re: CO2 Cartridges
well, obviously i wouldnt just pump it outta the gun all over it. heh, thats how u losed hands! i wasthnking more like puting it on a popsicle stick or something, and waiting a few secodns so it cools some. and as its really thick just spread it over the top to seal it off nice.
btw, does anyone know where to get fuses in CANADA? i knowive been to hobby shops hearing u can buy model rocket fuses, but no luck there.
and also, if i was to want to make a few using match powder, is it just a point of teadiously scratching away the powder until left with a nice pile, or is there an easier way? have u ever tried using the model rocket powder in them? (definitly more for the time u spend!)

Im talking about SOME types of cratermakers like the sparkaler powder ones. BTW THATdarnDAVIDkid said " my dad is a lawyer you dip shit i know whats legal. and if they have know proff then they cant bust me. DERRRRRRRRR

Re: CO2 Cartridges
why would you fill a cratermaker with crushed sparkler? its no more effective than plack powder or estes rocket engine powder its harder to light and you would have to either make it like 400 mesh or have a booster of bp or other more sensative fuel.

what the hell are you talking about estes engines are black powder and if you crush the powder real fine it works really good

Re: CO2 Cartridges
ppphhhh, i just use rubber cement. its more to hold the fuse in place and waterproof the contraption rather than to prevent excaping of gasses, which is negligible. true, if you could completely prevent the escape of gasses from the fuse hole, then there wuld be more energy exerted on the rest of the cartridge, making a louder boom. but think about it. even at superhigh pressures (the co2 cartridges blow at abou 1300psi), how much gas do you think can escape from that tiny hole in the milliseconds that it takes for the canister to blow? thats right, barely any. its really not something to be concerned about when making a CO2 bomb.

Re: CO2 Cartridges
Indeed.
I've found that epoxy putty works very well to secure your fuse. It's what I always use on my cratermakers. You could just duct tape it there, if you felt like it, but your tape is prone to fall off in your pocket after a while.

Re: CO2 Cartridges
Unless you do something foolish like fill it with a primary explosive a cratermaker is safe enough to keep in your pocket. I keep a tennis ball smokebomb and one cratermaker on me at all times. Some people pack guns, I pack explosives. What's the difference?
You never know when you need to blow something up...
