anyone in australia know where to get iodine crystals or make them. all i can get is the liquid crap.

i think there was a way to get the iodine out of the liquid crap. the liquid crap is a little bit of iodine dissolved in alcohol. so you take a cap of a jar, and put ice in it. then you put a flame under the liquid crap and boil it. the procedure said that the iodine crystals would condense on the lid. but for some reason if theyre just iodine in alcohol, then i think that the alcohol would boil off and the iodine would be left in the bottom.

Be careful with those touch explosives, if you ever get the crystals. I believe there is a way to get crystals out of liquid, like Unstable said. Try heating or boiling it. Or try a search at Google.

i was thinking of mixing the crystals with ammonim and sugar or something else to see if i could make it stable.

i think youre confused. explain to me what youre going to do with the iodine crystals.

He's not confused, although you might be? I'm guessing he is making touch explosive with iodine crystals. He wants to de-sensitize them, correct?

it appears that he believes that the iodine crystals are the touch explosive and he wants to desensitize them with ammonia, while in reality, the iodine crystals arent explosive, and mixing them with ammonia yields the touch explosive.

this procedure is very dangerous, and its foolish to carry it out without proper suplies and precautions.

what i want to do is make the touch explosives with ammoinm and the crystals. then while there are sort of a paint pour some in with some melted sugar and try to to make a solid brick wich i hope will be stable or stabler. do u think that would work cus i dont think i have anything better to try and make it stable with.

no that wont make it stable. and what is ammonim? you mean ammonium hydroxide. this is too dangerous of an experiment, you literally cant touch these things after you make them, so how are you gonna move and handle it? and theres little hop of stablizing it, since these these go off in even the smallest amounts.

the iodine liquid is 78% ethonol a bit of something else and 5% iodine. The crap gives out very little crystals.
