I am a father of 2 children. Im not gonna preach or anything but i really think you kids should reconsider building explosives. I have made small explosives as a kid in the form of home made cherry bombs and m-100's and i blew the thumb nail right off of my left thumb at the age of 14. it didnt feel good and it stopped me from making anymore explosives. But to be honest i believe firework bombs are a class C or B at best. What you guys are trying to make is very technical and would be classified as a high grade Class A explosive that only an experienced person such as a member of the military or ATF or even a right wing militia should even mess with. When i hear about people getting limbs blown off it just pisses me off at their poor futile attempt to make a large explosive device. Not to mention someones boy or girl could have been next to him as it went off. Maybe a family pushing a baby carriage going by his garage door as it blew up sending shards of wood or metal and killing the family. ok.. maybe im being overly protective but if you are under the age of 18 or whatever age makes you a minor in yoru country then please dont come on here looking to build bombs. You most likely will find answers but you are also gonna put your life at great risks. most of the adults who share recipies on here are doing it just for informational purposes (Most likely for their own ego) but would never go out and build one.

EOD....Why in god's name are you getting supercillious about Kewl bombers? Unless the US military's selection procedure involves finding your arse with both hands I seriously doubt they are going to accept you. The only sort of bomb disposal you are capable of is walking backwards over a minefield with your fingers in your ears.

Unless i am spikeing a richter scale in russia there is a very slim chance in hell that i could impress my friends with an explosion .You are talking about the wrong eod there doctor drunk I have been on this board for a while,but because i am in the military i am not always home at the end of the day.I am an explosive ordnance disposal technician(If i had a degree from los alamos i still wouldn't call myself an expert to afraid of jynxing myself) alot of the explosive recipes on the board even the good ones are still very dangerous to make or use ,the only thing that will keep you safe when it comes to working with them is relatively small quanities and common sense .
Combat engineers clear minefields eod techs disarm mines there is a differnce ,it took being in the army three years getting promoted to corpral having a very high asvab score being in good shape and having zero clausterphobic tendencies ,before i could even be accepted into the screening process .
Then be allowed to attend the school and have a 60%chance of not making it to graduation

It is not always that intresting we don't have alot of people in my unit so everyone has an extra job besides being an eod tech.i try to manage the unit supply room (like watching ice melt)but we usualy have at least one incident a day usualy conventienal ordnance.some times home stuff like pipe bombs we have to disarm or methlabs that have to be gone through after the police raid them ,they make the biggest fireballs i have ever seen. we do the bomb sweeps for the secret service when ever they request us I spent 10 days on the presidents ranch in crawford texas ,going through every vehicle that came on the ranch.might sound exciting but its pretty dull.usualy 2 weeks out of the month is spent on the impact area of the post firing range picking up duds and blowing them up ,every thing from hand grenades to 155mm projectiles landmines and bombs from 25 pounds all the way up to 2,000
pounders.I think that is when i have the most fun

the army has corprals and specialist it is the same pay grade just cpl is a leadership position and spc isn't ,thier rare outside of combat arms . the military has plows and big ass flails that clear minefields along with rockets that tow explosive filled cables behind them .but they are not something you would want to use over a gas line near a builing or on a main supply route in situations like those their is no substitute for human finesse expereince or free thought and places like cambodia and laos the terrain is to tough and there is no way they could afford machines to find them .most of the tactics we employ on uxo are remote and we usualy have more than one way to disarm something and we have a robot we a whole bunch of cameras on them and a couple of tools we can mount on them .but it is very time consuming to set up and emplace and it can't always go where we need it to .machines are nice when we can use them but i think the human being is going to play the main role in this field for a long time
