u can go to ur nearest paint store and buy some aluminum powder (the finer the better) and then mix the two together in this ratio:

2 parts sodium nitrate (again the finer the better)
1 part aluminum powder

this will make an effective flash powder. any sign of confinement will insure a VERY loud boom. ur best chance of confine ment is to fill an empty film cartridge 3/4 of the way full with the powder then insert a fuse and wrap about a quarter inch of duct tape around the whole thing. now make sure your not too close to it when it goes off cuz this thing is LOUD.

p.s. just out of curiousity, where did u get the sodium nitrate cuz ive hade some trouble finding it

get real , heres a better way, bombs are all about confining the gases, take your film canister fill the bottem with some wax or some ass whip, add your powder fill it full alum/sodim mix, or add in some black powder, get a black cat, or a m100, cut it in half, if using m 100 hollow it out, and you will see there is like a gel cap at the end of the fuse, do not take it appart, this gel adds packing power when puting the fuse in, i like to cut black cats in half and use them, fill the canister full , poke a small hole in the lid of the canister with a hot nial, isert fuse, cut like 5 5 inch strips of duct tape, push the lid on as hard as possible, it should be a real bitch, put the strips of duct tape on, light , run and or throw,

Confinement is only necessary when using deflagrating explosives aka non-detonating proppellants. So good bomb making is not all about confinement, it's about knowing what the hell you are doing.

Black cats do not contain the gel cap looking thingies on the end of the fuse. M100's do, that little gel cap thingie is the firecracker itself. The rest of an M100 is plaster so it looks bigger and little kids go "ooooh, aaaaah....this must be a half stick of dynamite!" whatever the hell that means.

the ace hardware near me doesnt have aluminum powder, which is supposed to be mixed with paint for some reason. they just sell the paint with the aluminum powder already in it. but maybe some ace's will have it
if they do have it, it will be in the paint department

dude i didnt say black cats had gels in it, and ive made 100s of bombs with black powder that way, it is all about compression with these things, getting it tight is essential, unless you want a big flaming smoking sparkler, eat me
