And is there such thing as a nightstick were you can put it on low, medium, or high? And were the best site to buy tazers? Could you buy them at weaspon shops? If you want to have an electrical weapon make a powerful telsa coil.

Would take one helluva Tesla Coil to do much damage, anything that produces high voltages, does so at the cost of current. Current kills, voltage just pushes you away and makes you dizzy/stunned. Tesla Coils aren't very mobile either, but they are very fun to play with.

You can buy stun guns at many gun shops, tazers as well, and yes electrified batons, nightsticks, and even riot shields. However don't go zapping people for the fun of it, you can be charged with attempted murder, manslaughter, or even murder if the person dies from falling and bumping their head or frying a pacemaker. I saw a person get hit with a 1 million volt cattle shocker while sitting in his car, he immmediately went into convulsion and was quite some time before he gained his senses back.

They are effective, but in a self defense situation it usually a good idea not to let a person get that close anyways, but something is better than nothing. Non lethal weapons though, I think for use in self defense, are a joke. The only thing that I've read about really working well and always turning a bad guy away is pepper foam. It is pepper spray emulsified into a foam and it is very sticky. It cannot be cleared by the wind and does not rinse off easily. The wind will also not blow it back into you. And lastly as one more benefit most contain a UV dye so if the person does evade police, they can later pick him up and look for the dye that is not visible without a UV light source, the dye will stay on for days depending on how often your assailant bathes or sweats.

While I'm on it, I highly do not recommend using less than lethal ammo. Unless you are fully trained in it's use, are a great shot, and KNOW that you are using it at all times. Bean Bag rounds, Zytel Buck shot, Wooden bullets, rubber bullets, etc can all kill at close ranges and if impacted in certain spots. If you forget you have lethal ammo in you gun and use it as non lethal be prepared for one heck of a legal battle. If you mistakenly have less than lethal ammo in you gun rather than slugs, you may lose the fight if defending against a crack head or what have you. Less lethals were designed to feel pain, something that people trying to kill you or under the influence of something feel little of.

ah thanks for the info. I just wanted to get one for my future home and pepper spray for back up. I wasn't going to shoot anyone or screw anything up. I'll leave that for a smoke bomb. But do you think like when were older, tasers might replace guns all together?

I prefer liquid capsium to pepper spray, know where I can get any?

I was under the impression that oleum capscium spray is peppers spray. Isn't oleum capscium an oil extracted from hot peppers?

I hope to god tazers never replace anything. They can be defeated by wearing thick clothing or insulating materials. Effective is range is:if the bad guy is in range you're pretty much fucked. But I'm pretty sure tazers will never replace guns. If not for the reasons above, then because people like myself won't let our guns go. I'll take my 13 shot .45ACP over any gadget any day.

Capscium or at least the stuff i've heard of is bear repellant it works like mace for bears and has been known to cause fatality in humans and there is not restricion on its sale or possesion.

Re pepper type spays they fucking sux i had this stupid bitch turn up at my work with a 4x2 and a broken bottle and threaten to kill me the cops turned up and tried to spray her what a joke both there sprayers where down on pressure and i could have pissed harder she saw the spry coming and just stepped back all they did was spray her shoes.Now when they tackled her and cuffed her she stopped smiling.
