I've read that you melt 4 parts sugar and 6 parts potassium nitrate together under a low flame untill it gells and then add a fuse and some matchheads. I've tried this once but the whole thing lit on fire in my house when I was melting it. I guess I got too impatient and used too much heat.

i read that you have to put the suger in first or something then the saltpetre in last but it doesn't matter does it as long as you stir? Um so it doesn't catch fire how long do you think i should boil it? Um also what should i use for a FUSE? And do i put suger first mix some saltpetre in then sugar then mix saltpetre in and poor some more salt petre in? And what size spoons should i use?

You can buy fuse on many online sites. You can also buy it at most gun shops or army surpluss stores.

Neil, they will probably both work because 2/3 and 4/6 is the same thing.

um question. What does 3 suger to salt petre? Would that mean half and a quarter? And what would 5 suger to 2 salt petre mean?
And since 4 to 6 would be the same as 3 to 2. Can someone help me out?

Neil, I talked to you and you were all right, but take a basic math class. 2 parts sugar and 3 parts Potassium Nitrate. That means any unit of measure of 2 for sugar and then 3 of the same unit for Potassium Nitrate.

Or 2/5 Sugar, 3/5 Potassium Nitrate. C'est Simple! Oui?

yes i figured it out bm. If you take 5 to 2 you say 5x2=10 then 2x2=4 so it would be 10 whatever of suger and 4 whatever of saltpetre. Someone told me that you multiply it by the 2nd number in this case is the 2 so you'd mulitply the 5 and 2 and with the 2 you'd mulpiply it also with the two. Er or something like that. Well later all

4 parts saltpeter and 10 parts sugar is the same as 2 parts saltpeter to 5 parts sugar except you did more work multiplying.

Hey peeps i was wondering what smoke bombs were for anyway? Are they used for fireworks or making rodents and animals get out of holes instead of poisioning them? Does anyone know any websites were i could buy them? I'd rather buy them then waste lots of sugar, have skin on my legs on my hand, i don't want a homemade hair full of fire, and i don't feel like buying a new stove or kitchen. Well could anyone help?

It seems in the UK none of the garden centres sell it in its pure form anymore. There probably afraid of the IRA making even more bombs.
