Re: blasting cap
Here's an easier way.
Remove the bullets from 25 .22lr rounds and dump the powder. Fill each case up with alcohol, using a toothpick stir the cases up, scraping the sides and bottom of the case. Dump out the liquid onto a watch glass and let it dry out. The liquid and powder remaining will be bright green. While still on the watchglass add 3 drops of water and stir it around making a thick green paste. Load this paste intor you cap body, fuse and crimp. The cap will take several days to dry out and be ready. Make several caps and after 3 days, use on every other day to test to see if the batch is ready. Time will vary with humidity. These caps are shock, heat, and friction sensitive.
OR
Obtain some exploding targets and take them apart. Keep the powder from inside and use this for you detonating explosive. It is heat and shock sensitive, but not as much as the above recipe. It takes about the equivalent of a hard blow with a hammer to get it to go. One of my favorite methods is to fill a fired rifle round about 3/4 full of the powder, insert fuse and crimp. I've had best results with .308 or 7.62x51mm, same thing.

Re: blasting cap
u get fook all primer powder from 22 bullits an eayser way is to crimp the ends in some pliers and it crumbles some times it goes off but just be gental it wont kill or anything and there is no need for drying time

Re: blasting cap
I'd rather do it wet for safety purposes, but to each his own.

Re: blasting cap
It causes a shock wave to travel through a material and break apart the materials molecular bonds freeing the energy stored within them, this process is commonly refered to as detonation.
A good blasting cap is .5 gram hmtd and 1 gram of pyrric acid or rdx compressed It to a bullet casing with a fuse going in through a hole drilled through the primer chamber into the main chamber this is probably more powerful than your standard blasting cap so be careful.
