God did the first human cloning
OK, so if we look at the bible where it says God placed Adam into a deep sleep and created Eve from one of Adams ribs... So was Eve Cloned or Stim-cell generated?

NOTE: the above is not the exact wording of the scripture - I'm heathen, yeah I know)

Re: God did the first human cloning
Hah. I'm sorry, but that is fucking dumb. It's not a clone. A clone is an exact copy. Stem cells are taken from people who aren't already grown up.
As you recall, Adam and Eve were created in adult form. Stem cells are only in very young organisms (to say the very least) before they differentiate.
Third, it's called creation. If God wanted something created, he simply would will it into existance. He doesn't resort to our means of copying his abilities.

Re: God did the first human cloning
Yes G-d could a=have made addam like he made eve but he made eve out of addams rib for a reason. The rib is the most hidden part; It is the part of your body that is the most covered. Oh and G-d made man with the melachim (their like angels I geuss) so that they wouldn't be jealose of man. But the woman, G-d made all by himeself, thats why in real life the woman is usealy the more spiratual one.

Re: God did the first human cloning
Hey, if I pull a rib out of a lamb's chest and created another sheep based on the original lamb (minus sexual orientation) sounds a bit like bio-genetics/sem-cell/psuedo-cloning in some form... Oh, and I'm just going by the read (bible) It didn't say he Willed her into existance it says he formed her from the rib of the man. Anti quote: Originally posted by Bar room hero: Hah. No, in the story it was not cloning or some type of stem cell generated creation because Moses had never heard of those things when he made that story up.

Re: God did the first human cloning
Yes.. if you know the original story then you would know that there was a woman created before Eve, the same way Adam was. (this is why the bible is bias) Supposively Adam did not like the 1st eve so he said "can you make someone that is more like me?" So GOD took adams rib and made Eve. Therefore he made someone similar to Adam, except it had a different sexual orientation. SO YES it was cloning! If i tell a scientist to take my DNA and form another me, except that it has to be a woman...... you will have the adam and eve incident.

You really can't interpret the Bible so strictly, and then apply it to our common methods. It doesn't work. That's like saying that apes often use toos and utensils, but you then compare their eating habits to victorian-level table manners. Cloning is done by copying genetic code. This means that chromosomes are duplicated. ALL of them. I don't think you can start out with a Y chromosome and the end up with an X with simple modern-day cloning methods. You need to understand something: God doesn't do anything unless He wishes to, correct? Meaning, it's in His will. If He wanted to make stars explode and entire planets die, He would. Why? Simply because he wanted to. The same goes with creation. He can craft wonderous life, simply because it is in His divine will.

Do you believe that Jesus was God? If so, why did He pray and ask God to "remove this cup from Him" and then go die on the cross anyway? Was it His will or not? Or is this just one of those trinity contradicions that we cannot understand?

Re: God did the first human cloning
I think the pulling-rib-out thing is symbolic to show that man and woman together will be complete.

Genesis was myth, you can't take any of it as being literal.

He is both. I see the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as a collective God. Yes, it was his will. But at the same time, he prays simply because that's how he talks with his Father.
