Help Me Please
Do you believe that God is omnipotent, which means he can do anything he wanted to do, even the logically impossible? If you do believe then I have a couple of paradoxes that might get you thinking for yourself. (1) Could God fill a glass with water while keeping the glass empty? If God couldnt do this then it is obvious that he is not omnipotent because he couldnt do something and it is easy to understand that a glass can either be full or empty there are no in betweens. (2) Could God create a stone too heavy for himself/herself to lift? Lets suppose He can. Then, if He did, Hed have created a stone that He couldnt lift. Since He couldnt lift it, He wouldnt be omnipotent because he couldnt do something. So lets suppose He cant. But then there is something God cant do, so He isnt omnipotent. Either way, omnipotence is impossible. (3) Could God create a person who truly does have free will? Lets suppose He can. Then that person would be a limit to Gods power, He couldnt control that person because their decisions are theirs alone not Gods. So lets suppose that He cant. But then there is something God cant do, so He isnt omnipotent. Either way, omnipotence is impossible. Maybe omnipotence makes no sense.

Re: Help Me Please
1: Why did you make two threads on this?
2: This question cannot be answered as 'god' does not exist.
PS:
As for your question about the stone. You're gonna geta lot of answers like, 'Why would god want to make a stone he can't lift?' simply because people who believe in god probably won't want to admit he lacks the power to do something. However, if he did exist, Ide probably say no, he can't create a stone he can't lift. Simply because he should be able to lift anything.
But this is an OLD paradox.

Re: Help Me Please
Well then, we have now proved that the bible is bullshit.
Because if thats true, then god cannot be omnipotent.
If he can make a stone he cant lift, then hes not omnipotent.
If he cant make a stone he cant lift, then hes not omnipotent.

Re: Help Me Please
Actually a more complicated response to your paradox is to say that it's not God's omnipotence which is lacking, but instead something like it's your logic which is lacking. This approach easily defeats your first problem, but not so easily the second and third.
Could God create a glass of water which is full and empty at the same time? Ok, says the determined (and probably quite smart) theist. That's a logical fallacy you just stated. You've given structure to something that makes no sense. You haven't communicated anything but noise, it has no relation to anything.
Like saying for instance... "Well, God is not omnipotent because blue cloud rabbit Xerox." (Which makes no sense, doesn't communicate anything but white noise...)
It's a bit of a stretch to take this style of reasoning to your next two examples; it would mean we've made some apparantly gross errors in our assumptions on what it means to communicate meaningfully...
Anyhoo, there are a large number of arguments of your style to shoot down the concept of an omnipotent, omnibenevolent, and omniscient God. As it stands this description contradicts itself again and again. But, there is also a swathe of extensive rebuttals and counterarguments to these apparant contradictions. In my experience the closest you get either way is an opinion on how likely it is for God to exist or not. Given our limited understanding of our tiny chunk of the universe... (erm, assuming a belief in an objective universe).
You also get bogged down in extensive descriptions whenever discussing this too... or at least I seem to... sorry.

Re: Help Me Please
You don't propel a sailboat by blowing into the sail. You can't lift youself up by the hair.God can't lift himself. I don't think you can apply God's powers to himself. Can yo eat yourself (completely)? God is one thing. Then there is eveything else.

Re: Help Me Please
A glass of water is kept empty while filling it. If you look at it atomically, or whatever, material is mostly space anyway. I'm not expert here, but I've heard the mass of the universe could be contained in a baseball.(Help from someone on the details?) So a full glass could be seen as empty or full depending on your criteria.
