This is bothering me now. How do ye Christians reconcile this fact that your preachers and religion consider Jews to be a select above you? Do you just ignore it, or is there some twisted logic here that makes an unchristian, thieving deciever more loved by god than a good christian, from christian perspectives?

Personly I say that G-d made all of us which means that G-d loves all of us. If your a good person thats what matters not if your christian, or muslim, or orthodox.

you can't make sense for a very simple reason. it is all immaterial. there is no god to choose people, there is no chosen people. anyone who thinks so is wrong, and whateverthey say on the subject should be treated with the contempt that all lies deserve. i can say i am chosen, and that someone is better chosen than me, and i am more chosen than someone else, but in the end its all bullshit, because i am making it up. think of that on a larger scale, (not just a bigger version of me, but lots of other people) and you have religion.

Some also claim the modern Jews aren't the real Jews. They say they're Kazars or have mixed to much or whatever, and that Europeans are the lost tribe of Israel.

The Romans did the actual crusifying, but they did it because the mob demanded it. Pontius Pilate just wanted to whip him, and Herod had a chance to save him.

If your not a Christian, shut up and dont post, I dont care about yor opinion. Obviously this question was intended for people who believe Jews to be the "Chosen" people.

Jews don't believe Jesus was the son of god. Christians do. That's why we call 'em Christians.

I've been a christian all my life, and I have never ever heard once that jews are the chosen ones. Maybe the Israelites, but not the jews. What kind of christianity are you talking about anyway, Spirit of '22?

I used to be a Jehovahs Witness, and this is what they taught me on the matter.

The Israelites (which started to be known as the Jews after they got taken to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar) were Gods chosen people until Jesus came.

Jesus pointed out that the Jews were corrupt and that God no longer considered them his chosen, since they broke the Covenent started with Moses. They disobeyed his lays making them chosen, and thus, they were no longer chosen.

Jesus died and redeemed our sins, and with Israel no longer being the chosen people, anybody who followed Jesus was considered 'chosen' and thus in God's favor.

They call the chosen 'Israel' after this anyway, but this doesn't mean actual Israelites. Though if I'm not mistaken, in Revelation God is to take a number (around 144,000) from each of the tribes of Israel. They are actually from each of the tribes.

This discussion about Herod is interesting. His position was at the good grace of Rome, but that doesn't mean he acted as a jew. And stuff like there was a mob that day, is speculation, and more likely added to the story.

Jesus said no such thing. Jesus didn't even make christianity. This guy named poul or somethin made it up after the guy died. Christianity is made up of judiesm and romen. romens believe in science; in logic. So thats why they say that G-d has a son. Or wait, G-d is the son. well, whatever. And everyone knows how similer chistianity is to judiesm.

That's why they had all those prophets that told them to repent, and then when they didn't, disasters to show them that God was really pissed off.

Why was it this single occurence of widespread corruption and law-breaking warranted the revoking of 'Chosen' status?

Rejecting the last manifestation of his Law, his son and the messiah, and crucifying him...

Jews/hebrews being described as the chosen people is only ALL OVER the "old testement". duh!
