Think about it. If you die, then your a spirit. You cannot feel pain. So if God throws you in that burning lake of fire, just fart in his direction and let HIM feel the burn!

Few things in life are less obvious than the general will of god. I would throw people in a lake of fire for defying something so simple and pure as well.

thats good, nirvana, monty python, and general bits of blasphemy, i like, my theory on hell is that every1 bad is going to hell, all the murderers, thieves, mob bosses of various shapes and sizes, not to mention the sexual deviants.... if i need to say more it would be that goodie goddies will be up in heaven playing sorry with the pope while the rest of us play twister with porn stars, goodie goodie drink milk with mother theresa while the rest of us have a cold 1 with sinatra, talk prayers with a priest or talk video games with, well, i guess some more priests... but we can punch them in the head when we're done cause they are icky... newho... bring on the damnation

In they early days of the catholic and christian churches it was believed sinners would be sent to hell, children who had not been blessed at birth where to be sent to hell. With the old beliefs it would seem every body upon their death would be damned to hell! If you speak with a priest today you will find that God is all forgiving and if you ask for his mercy you shall recieve it. The point im trying to animate is that religious beliefs change with the times to suit peoples lifestyles. That said it's hard to dedicate your self to such an easily modified belief system!

Hey.. At least we will have some good company like Enstien, Dala'i Lama, Socrates etc etc. The list goes on.

if god is so good and pure and all taht, i doubt he chucks a hissy fit everytime someone acts the prick. if he didn't want people acting the prick, he could like come down here and make it perfectly clear that someone is in charge.

I can see Sinatra going to Catholic hell, but I don't think Einstein, The Dalai Lama, and Socrates would be sent to their respective hells.

i'd rather go to hell because god sounds like a real asshole and satan seems like the kinda guy i could get along with.

of course, since none of those people are very real at all, im simply going to die, and be reincarnated as myself until i do something or other that im supposed to be doing every time i come here.

From what I've heard hell is being away from God.
It is as if a man who has spent his entire life in warm, tropical area where the weather is the similar and monotonous, goes to some place really cold. Or if someone who has spent his entire life in a lighted area, is banished forever in an area where there is no light - ever. It is being away from God that makes hell so fearful. God is with you now - but you can't even imagine how it's like without him. And when it is, its up to you how to describe the pain.
Note: I don't believe in the idea of God, or Hell, but I do understand theologians.

I just don't understand how a God could damn you for making an "incorrrect" decision, despite giving no indication of what the "correct" one would be.

Anybody can make claims such as any religion does, which can not be proven. If all faiths are taken with equal merit, the wrong path is no more man's fault than it is God's.

No, because each individual religion provides a very specific path, and it is that religion's god that would damn you. That's different than a single god playing some kind of shell game with all the religions. Each religion's doctrine is a closed system, so if someone is looking at them all, and says, "gee, which one should I pick?", they are outside of each of those religions systems, and the part about being damned doesn't apply.

I feel its more on excceptance then on actions.. I beleive that you can be a murdering theif whatever and still go to heaven as long as you beleive and except him into your heart.. Thus you are able to live on earth freely to do whatever you want.. His gift to us..

All the noble prize winners. Most of the famous musicians. Incredible artists... so on and so forth.
