My passionate hatred of the following:
From a boy I wish daily to throw into a roaring fire:
"Back to the question of religion and faith: is there truly a justifiable explanation why people hold onto it so vehemently? Possibly because their life is so meaningless that it requires additional backing. Or is it simply because of inertia and adherence to social customs?"
Except the name of your god and promised land, what makes you different?
My definition of religion is, any abstraction that man has faith in to explain the meaning and significance of his existence. You can deny it with semantics all you want, but that is the essence of everything religious, and cosmopolitan contemporary self-righteous condescending faggot European rationalism sure fits the defintion, especially when advocated so "vehemently."

Re: My passionate hatred of the following:
so if you didn't create any meaning or significance in your existence then you are no longer religious?
I can live with that. It sounds like an appropriate definition - you put faith into your personal beliefs.

I see how you're correct, Defiant.
MSSR, I was here the day that topic was posted. I refrained from responding because it was pointless and contentless. Congratulations on starting the longest and most ridiculous flame war in the history of TOTSE.
