If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
Dont be a fag, if youre gonna be an atheist shitstain and say, "No gods are real, eeeeheheheh," save yourself the trouble and dont try and ruin my fun.
I would worship Krom; Krom and he lives in the Earth, the unyielding shaper of man's destiny, where all that is comes to be.

Re: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
You weren't clear in your meaning.
Krom sounds interesting, though it seems utterly alien to have anyone but a triad of women decide the fates of men, but then again, the title does say unreal.
I'd worship Indryhten, god of decorous conduct, patron of the higher classes.

Re: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
I worship the almighty god Currency. When He is pleased with me, He gives me nice gifts like electricity and a gameboy advance. When He is displeased with me, He takes them away. He usually sends one of his minions called the "repo man." He is not a just god. He often showers His favor on the less deserving, while severly punishing the faithful. There is only one sin according to His Word. Charity.

i would pick no god, and instead say that god is energy, made up of the psychic energy of the humans, animals, plants, all that shit. And, that in a few generations, that we are going to become almost completely psychically aware, and it will be a better place. But until then, fuck life

yeah thats where I got the idea, from the movie. I haven't read the book... it's Anne Rice and fantasy romance books don't usually interest me. Akasha has a lot of the qualities I find interesting... a huge thirst for power, she is aware of ability, she still thirsts for someone to share her experience with... an equal, and she cares not of the things that don't concern her. anyways you asked to chose one person - not to give a fucking review on how homosexual a movie was.

Re: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
Thats a cheap cop-out god whose power is restrained to the distant Beyond. His power has never been used on the pantheons of mortals, and likely never will be. Krom, by contrast, is reborn and his power reaffirmed everytime man puts faith in deeds and weapons more than words and laws.

That movie bastardized the book, besides the characters they barely share anything in common. You worship an Akasha thought up by Hollywood folk meant to vastly simplify the plot, I pity you and your weak god. I'd worship Mikahel, Mikahel controls time and gravity. He gives Soleil his orders only allowing him to collapse stars at his will. And crushes Kroms mountains under their own weight at his mere whim. He also cuts the life spans of Kroms followers by two thirds. All bow before his might, and he shall reward you with extended life. [This message has been edited by Sol463 (edited 11-30-2002).]

how seriously can you take a subject named: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
comeon sol - I like the way they made akasha very nihilistic - I could give a fuck if they bastardized the movie as I said once I wasn't giving a fucking review. And anyways I would choose a god I could become (or become like) instead always feeling the need to worship something you can never attain - i pity the weakness that makes you follow unattainable ends.

Govinda- I was offerring a review aswell as mocking your pitifully weak pretend god. The unattainable, like I said in the first post Mikahel offers extended life, today, worship him and add a thousand years to your life.
Not every thread needs to be deciding life or death issues, if you dont like it go take your lack of imagination bitchasses to another thread.

Mikahel oversees and controls all things having to do with time and gravity. His very existence allows time and gravity to exist to us. And in controlling time and gravity your puny god that controls supernovas falls under his vast domain, and control.
It's okay to worship the underling of my god, you will not gain the benefits of direct worship but it does mean he will not cut your lifespan by to much.

Re: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
I would choose Killroginary. Killroginary is an omnipresent being that everything, all matter and anti-matter and everything else we have not concived of, is comprised. Not only does everything in the universe consist of him but the whole purpose of everything is to comprise him. He also controls everything that he consists of/consists of him. Meaning he's a paradox and he has total control over absolutly anything, thus all your gods mearly exist to help comprise Killroginary and are under his complete control carrying out his whims. Ha beat that.

my god does not reveal himself to anyone and chooses to rename nameless. he is ever present and always helping us in unseen ways.he does not ask for praise because she doesnt desire it.my god has made us paradise on earth it is only like a hell if you feel it is. my goddoes not give special treament to anything that doesnt deserve it. y god does not punish with the afterlife she punishes in the hear and now.these punishments are not what you think they are small like lost keys and the such. my god also sends all to heaven who wish to go and does reincarnation for others or does whatever you believe or wan to happen afterlife.my god does not hate atheists but is instead hurt by them because he still holds so much love for them

Re: If you had to pick a god that wasnt real
Pick a god you would worship. Its quite clear. I underestimated the shallowness and over-rationalizing of people in matters of spirit. Of course I didnt specify what not to do or say, it did not occur to me people could be so sad. Looking back, I guess I just assumed when people saw, God, they would put more feeling and religious sentiment into it than a race to identify and label forces.
But since its clear none of you have a soul, I meant, I thought this was obvious, a god that would appeal to you. Consider what kind of after-life it would offer, what rewards and punishments it or they would dole out, etc. In other words, think of a fuckin god...

I can't remember ever thinking about a hobby god in these terms. My hobby gods are all made up. They're unseen and manifest themselves in the powers that they give men. After all, isn't the thought of yourself as god: the best hobby god? And, is Krumb taken from Conan the movie or the books? I haven't read the books and would be interested in hearing some opinions about them - compared to the movies. The movie version of Krumb didn't offer much information.

Hiro The god of all that is evil. He controlls all the evil in this world, he makes it happen. If there is a murder, its because of Hiro. Hiro lives in all of us, we just dont see him.
Cellanoose Could be more properly discribed as "The Ganga God", he watches over all Pot plants all over the world. He does his best to keep the pigs in the U.S.A from getting leads to his crop. In Amsterdamn, He takes Extreme care of each plant, letting it bud, making sure its high in THC gives it its nutrients, etc,,, At the end, Cellanoose gives his prized possessions to thier rightful owners

Devlin
God of Arguments, God of Investigations. Devlin is the holder of mysteries, conspiracies and adventure. He controls the drive in every person that makes them want to reach the 'end of the rainbow', either to steal the gold there, or to beat the shit out of the leprachaun because the rainbow was too long...
His appearence is what his worshipper holds to be the most badassed visage in existance.
Usually he takes the form of that mysterious man in the trenchcoat watching you from across the street, or perhaps the driver of the featureless black Sedan that passes you on a lonely country road.
His worshippers will be given clues to the answers they seek, and only he knows the Understanding that is required for Truth.
