False. Those who flew the airliners into the wtc towers were doing it in the name of allah. They felt as if they committed this act they would obtain a spot in their heaven. Osama on the other hand was a svengalis, convincing them of this really just in order to do his own bidding. His was politicly oriented, no religiously.

The soldiers do it out of blind faith, the leaders do it to out of the lust for power. Radical Islam is built upon the concept of the absolute purity of their leaders. Part of this purity comes from fighting the foes of Islam. What this means is that in order to maintain power, the extremist leaders have to be continually fighting against the kafirs(infidels).

They do it to maintain political power in the Middle-East, American support for Israel, and American+Israel oppression against the Palestanians.
