Contemporary Moral Issue
From the chalkboard in a mens washroom in the science building of my local community college; most male science students are pro-choice.
I don't believe that a fetus is gifted with an imortal soul upon conception. I don't believe in imortal souls at all actually. A fetus has only the potential to aquire the traits that I consider human; self-awareness, freewill, personality. I see no logical reason for abortion to be morally reprehensible, and yet it strikes me as something that should avoided if at all possible.
Can anyone think of some reasons why that is?

Re: Contemporary Moral Issue
Evolution. You've been programmed to preserve human life. There is, of course, a hierarchy, but babies and fetii tend to be outside it.
Personally, I think that we don't have enough abortion, or the right abortions. It's a eugenics thing. http://www.plif.com/archive/wc206.gif

Re: Contemporary Moral Issue
Maybe your conscience has highly evolved in your familyline creating this extreme guilt at something obviosly not worth it. E.G your Son or Daughter.
