Re: THE BIBLE
If your statement is correct, God indirectly writes everything...including the anti-God literature. Think about it.

Re: THE BIBLE
the bible was written by a group of people that had been slaves and wanted to feel specail. Nietzsche describes it has the "will to power" of the weak.

Propaganda? Appeal? If God show's he's open to resistance, and not opressive it probably makes christianity more appealing.

Re: THE BIBLE
Well the Bible is said to be completly God-inspired. Doesn't that say enough. And besides there are 40 known authors of the Bible, all of whom were men of God.

And the operative words in your post are 'said to be'. My question is: Who said so? The Book of the Revalation of St. John is (as I have said multiple times), the oldest document written by a person on drugs. I have a difficult time placing 'St. John' in the same league as the author of Ecclesiates (and don't use the OT/NT business). Nox

Re: THE BIBLE
Think about this for a second. 40 authors and all of them agree on the same thing. Isn't that a bit amazing?

Not really, especially when you consider the Chrisian council which gathered to select which books were 'inspired' enough to be included in the Bible. What I find 'amazing' is which books were not included and why they weren't. The 'included' books established the Christian doctrine and proclaimed as heresy all the rest. Talk about control. So your comment about 'the 40' looses much of what could be construed as a good point. You have the selected 40 whose writings support a particular point of view. Nox

Re: THE BIBLE
The Jews wrote it by the word of god, dur. If you consider that it may not be true, people (still Jews) wrote it because it sounded good.

Re: THE BIBLE
The writers of the Bible claimed to have been divinely inspired and that God worked through them. This is simmilar to Islam and Muhammad, but in Islam Allah flat out dictated the Koran to Muhammad.

Re: THE BIBLE
Well in my oppion i think there could be some sort of god although i follow no religon as i believe it a lot of crap. the bible was written clearly by random ppl who were having a laugh, now alot of ppl follow its teachings. but also to me the idea of heaven is just ppl wanting something good to happen after death. its like wats the best thing which could happen after death yes its heaven. One more point i dont critise ure views i mearly make my own, so dont have a go at me coz i respect u for ure views.

I hope I sound like a committed non-Christian instead of a committed atheist. I was raised in the Christian religion, but as the Christians like to say, "I saw the light". Unfortunately for Christianity, the light I saw came from a different flashlight and the one the Christians were holding. Nox

Not quite. Allah spoke to the Angel Gabriel, who spoke to Mohammed (spellings vary). Nox
