i know all the christains are gonna flame me for this but oh well.

from my birth till i was 14, i grew up believing in god, a hardcore christain, never even questioned his existence. Then in the summer, one of my aithiest friend slipped PCP into my drink. I was tripping pretty fucking hard. during that trip, i saw through all the shit that was drilled into me (i came from one of those "Masturbation is a sin" familys); for just some reason, everything just didnt seem resonable. Then, for one soitary moment, my dads death was reviewed: Him lying in a hospital ded, my praying, and then, him in a casket. Thats when something inside me clicked: god is a big fuckin ego. FUCK YOU GOD!". that was the attitude i had all through the trip. finally, after 12 hours, it was all over. I then started doing reserch on reilgons.

Im 17 now and been researching for 3 years so far, there is only one religon that defines my attitude: Satanisim

I read the satanic bible from front to back (Had to literlly smuggle it into the house) and there is one motto anton levy had "The only god you save may be your YOURSELF". I dont wanna go through and explain what anton's meaning for that was, if you really wanna know, buy the book and read it. After i read it, i have benn wanting to go satanic, but those damn memories from the past just keep nagging me.

What the point is, i really dont know if i want this change. I dont want to be part of ANY religon that defines god as thier lord. This is the only reason why i wont go rasta. Wasint for that, my hair would be in dreads now. Paganisim is a little..... too much on the good side for me, they remind me of christains.

Then again, i could allways just stay agnostic.

What would your choice be in my situation?

Here's a God that doesn't require anything, yet promises all the good stuff.
In fact i urge everyone on this message board to read it. Whether your theist or atheist, it's an amazing read, and easy to get through.

Satanism leans toward logic and some philosophy, but it's not without it's downside. I remember reading about it and it says that you should forgive your enemies when they trespass on you and then if they do it again, destroy them.

Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that doing such a thing is not legally sound. But after I read a bit of it, it appealed to me quite a bit. Instead of being this big fucking ball on nonsensical confusion like Christianity, it came to me as clear, concise, and was a level of clarity that I had never before seen in a religion.

It will make an appeal to logic and common sense in many areas, but violate it in others. I am more of a philosophist now myself. I read philosophies and works of many philosophers such as Descartes, Aristotle, Voltaire, Epicurus, Yamamoto Tsunemo, etc.

Satanism will teach about revenge and how if you don't strike back, you will be continually taken advantage of, etc. but that is not always the best attitude to have for obvious reasons.

Read 1 Chronicles 21 and 2 Samuel chapter 24, here's the first verses:

2 Samuel 24:1
Again the anger of the LORD was aroused against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, "Go number Israel and Judah."

1 Chronicles 21:1
"Now Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel."

Apparently the same incident, however in one account the LORD"moved David" and in the other Satan "moved David".

Put the two together, and yes it's another religion! COMMON FACTOR: Appeals to logic and common sense in some areas and violates it in others - in other words it is a contradiction! You have freed yourself, now the true path to understanding and enlightenment can occur if you don't hastily jump amid the fold of the first "religion" that sounds logical. I'm glad to see that you are hesitant to do so, and that's encouraging.

Paganism might remind you of Christianity because so many of its rituals were ripped off by Christianity. It isn't the same thing, though.

The church of satan does seem to be built on a number of sound philosophical principles, but they still encourage participation in satanic "rituals" that even get to silly as to have you sayig things like "dark lord".

Seems to me that the church of satan would be a lot better off if all the satan stuff were left off.

I want to read the Satanic Bible, but it's not to be found in the library or any local bookstores. I wanted to order it online, but my Dad's paranoid and thinks the FBI would track me down or something.

Yes, LaVeyan stuff is ridiculous, but I've heard there are some great lines in the Satanic Bible.

If I were considering Satanism, I'd be more into the Setian stuff. But they don't accept minors anyway, and I don't want to waste my money.

I also ost my father as did you and I'm also researched about Satanism and other religions but not because I lost faith or I was druged,I started researching because the Bible is full of illogical statements but so is the Satanic Bible.Order Of The Nine Angels really intruiged me but I don't accept all of their statments so I passed on that and realized that we are animals yet we are complex and have the ability to become something more,there is no absolute good or evil,sometimes you just have to good and sometimes you have to be bad.I belive in God and what is commonly known as Satan I just don't recognise any of those two as my "(Dark)Lord",I just try to walk the middle ground and be the best person I can be.
