how many agree that church has twisted religion so that they can bend people to there own power and not God?

I second that. Just look at the Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, etc. The church can influence people to do things for financial, territorial, political, and personal gain.

All those in favour say 'aye'! What about the bs in the middle east? How much of that is self-fulfilling prophecies? All the religions who are saying that Israel has to be re-established, so they supported it, and it happened!
Now they are saying the prophecies forecast we must have armageddon!

The operative word you used is desires. What word you should have used is power or better yet, control. That control is what the priest, preacher, imam, bishop, pope, et al wants. These folks want to control the keys to heaven which in and of itself is designed to keep you in line, and themselves in control.
