Your Thoughts on Pagan Religions Particularly Wicca and Witchcraft?

Myself being wiccan. I am curious as to some of your thoughts on Wicca and orther Pagan religions in general. Mostly how you feel about them, how you feel about discrimination aginst them, weather or not you practice them and questions of that sort of nature. Feel free to answer any questions here and add your own if you feel like it as I said I am curious as to your feelings towards them.

I do not mind any critisizm you may have eathier or any discriminatory coments you may have as I most lickly have heard them before but I would as you to have enough respect for me and others to try and behave yourselves.

Thank you

Well i dont know much about them at all.
But i wouldnt mind finding out about it cos i believe all the stuff i hear is totally possible.
I think they only people who disagree with this kind of thing are people who are ignorant to it. Or the annoying religeous people who say 'ooo your dabbling with the devil'. They really get on my tits.
I think its all down to medetation and higher states of consciousness that can make a lot of cool stuff possible.
Where can i find cool info about wicca?

I am looking at wicca right now, have been for a while. I believe that ther is an afterlife and that spirituallity is a good thing, though christianity isn't really appealing to me. I never had the opportunity to finish it, but I really fell in love with "The Power Of The Witch" by Laurie Cabot. Have you ever read it?

it seems a bit foolish to me (no offense). i am not highly educated in wicca but the impresion i get is that most wicans just do it to be accepted by other goths. i see it as an alternate form of christianity. the views are different but the motivation is the same. it seems its just a way of acceptance.

keep in mind i dont mean to be offensive in any way but my only opion is an honest one.

A. The bible, "bible thumpers," movies, stories, and most everything out of western culture teaches against it.

B. It's less heard of.

C. It has many odd aspects which make non-believers feel uncomfortable.

D. People in general are assine pricks.

These are my speculations on the subject. If you put "Wicca" or "Witchcraft" as a religion for an aplication or something chances are you aren't getting the job. It's just the way of most people to shun what they don't understand. It's annoying but you have to deal with it. I'm studying the wiccan religion and I get a lot of shit from the people who know about it who don't approve. Just pay no attention to those people is what I can say.

I find that wicca/witchcraft makes the most sense to me out of all the religions I've studied or have been exposed too. I started looking into alternate religions like this when I started developing my own beliefs. I didn't agree with some of the major religions: christinanity, juadism etc. My family isn't big on religion at all and had only taken me to church two or three times, so they are accepting of my beliefs. Anyway, I started looking into wicca/witchcraft more and found I was more comfortable with it than anything else. The reactions I get when I talk about this really bother me a lot. Its mostly people who dont realize that wicca is a religion, and I can't really take them seriously.

I see new age religions, Wicca in particular, as a bunch of liberal bullshit. Wiccans should go find a good religion, like asatru.

My believe is that pagan cerimonies help to focus the mind on a perticular desire of the practitioner, level of power/focus that the person can obtain leads to the effectiveness of the ritual, this can be seen in rain dances etc. because all is mind and therefore able to be manipulated by mind they can work, this can be seen in telekinesis, levitation and other forms of reality manipulation. The ritual gives the practitioner something tangible they can work with but voddoo dolls for example have no inherent value of there own. The spells can work but are only forms of mind/matter interaction, which can be done more effectively in different ways with out the ritual and the believe that ritual is neccesary.

Wicca is pussified witchcraft. Its unnatural to only do "good" and no "evil". People need revenge and hate, we thrive on it. We are animals and we need to fight. Fuck your white-light religion. Hail Satan.

Default Re: Your Thoughts on Pagan Religions Particularly Wicca and Witchcraft?

My personal opinion is that religion in general is a terrible thing. It really seems to teach people to cling to their egos, which are the cause of pain and suffering. As far as Wicca in particular, I agree with SatansPyro that it is a watered-down form of witchcraft. I practised it for two years before being seduced to the dark side, and, in hindsight, most of the rituals struck me as having little more effect than praying. On one hand, it does have some use in teaching people to meditate (if they really practise it, which a lot don't...but for the sake of conversation, we'll talk about the true Wiccans, not the little angsty teenagers who think it's cool to cast spells so they occasionally light a red candle to get someone to ask them to Prom). However, my main problem with it is that it still clings to the old Judeo-Christian ideas of "good" and "evil" as concrete things, when you get right down to it. Also, it tends to pacify would-be magicians with an illusion of power which, as already stated, is really usually no more powerful than the Christian getting on his knees to pray (which in itself is a magical act if the supplicant focuses hard enough). I agree with Nick Hall's statement that Wicca is really not much more than Jesus in a dress.

Gargoyle, do you practice the "spell rituals" of wiccanism? If you do... do you have any stories to share? of sucess or failure. Ive been reading into it, and it makes more sense than most religeons, im just not sure about the ritualistic part.

Its more unnatural to do only evil. Theres nothing good about being Wiccan though; pacifism, acquiescence, surrender, and femininity are not virtues any healthy society can survive with. Not being able to feed your kids is pretty bad. So being a fucking idiot Wiccan is not the epitome of good.
Satanism is likewise, very gay and just as unnatural. It acknowledges no authority higher than the self, and worse, the self's lowest common denominator, the things everyone shares with the lowest invertebrates. It is, by design, only for victims of abuse and rape and other psychologically traumatizing events that leave one feeling impotent and disillusioned. Of the dozens and dozens of Satanists Ive talked to across the world, Ive never known a single one who had, for example, a healthy relationship with either parent. Satanism is for children of divorce dude. Get over yourself and stop thinking that by aligning yourself with something scary you seem powerful, faggot.

By the way, you cannot have revenge and hate without first loving something that was threatened or wronged.

SP of 22 it seems like you read a lot of Nietzsche. If you look into the matter further you will see Nietzsche as was Schopenhaurer were all influenced by Buddhist thought. Slave Morality is practiced by everyone in society to a degree. Unless you are self employed and even then you are a slave. I doubt you ever busted your boss in the face when he acted like a jackass toward you.<<<<<

Wanting to hit him and not out of tactics, but going home knowing it would be right to is different than inverting the whole thing and convincing myself vengeance is wrong, ya know? You dont have to level everything in your path to understand and view life as a free man. As long as you understand yourself and your instinct, restraining them is more an act of control than oppression. The difference between that thinking and wicca/christianity/etc is that the wiccans and such go so far as to tell people that wanting to strike back is wrong, and only the people who have no such desires are good and pure and free.

I know that. Its core tenet is the exact same thing as modern liberalism. Where it betrats its core tenet is identical to modern liberalism in its hypocrisy too. (Let everyone think and feel however they want, but DONT be mean or RACIST, ew! And no masculine values)
