I dress in all black, usually my Marilyn Manson shit. My favorite is my shirt with the jesus fish and inside it says manson. But anyways it happened on december 24th at christmas even mass around 11 pm. I didnt want to go but was forced by my parents. i kept questioning god throughout mass and asked for a sign that he exsisted. I got it...i saw this candle in a box with holes all cut in the sides hanging on a wall. then the candle flame started getting bigger and smaller with the preists tone of vioce. Like if he talked loud the flame got bigger and likewise if it got quiet. the flame only got bigger and smaller with the preists voice to despite the fact other people talked in the microphone. believe me or not i dont care...

I witnessed a similar if not the same phenomenon nearly every Sunday when I used to
go to church, I was an altar boy and was close and had an unobstructed view of a row
of candle�s behind the altar that I used like to watch for lack of better visual stimulus,
when the Priest was putting a lot intense emotion into a sermon the flames of all or a
few would violently flicker and grow larger, I was younger and used to make a game
out of it, from memory it was kind of like a musical instrument playing along with the
Priest, adding synchronized visuals to the speech. I can say absolutely that this was
not cause by wind, and saw it so many times that for skeptics a God would be a more
likely scenario than it being a coincidence. Maybe it was caused by the
vibrational/electromagnetic fields of the priest, the people in the church or my self,
some sort of pi phenomenon, it�s all God for me anyway, but I was wondering if
anybody else had a theory?

perhaps there was a ceiling fan above and off to one side.

not to knock you man, i do believe in god, i think the signs are all around that he does exist, even though there their for all to see,

you have to dig a little deeper than the effects of wind currents in an enclosed environment.

as for matching the preacher's voice, preacher's voices are rythmic, not your usual 4-4 time, but there's a pattern behind it a flow to it, which can give the appearance on other rhythmic effets nearby, like the spinning of a fan at a constant speed, just as the construction guy across the street is apparently hammering at the same beat as the song i'm listening to, it's as if he's listening to it as well.

No fans and no windows or doors open, the flucuations wernt rythymic, but synchronized with the amount of emotion the priest was puting into the sermon or parts of it.

well, the priest is obviously on a mic. which are attached to speakers. haven't you ever seen TV shows about things like suped up car sterios? i know i saw one on TLC that showed things like the speakers causing a girls hair to blow, to causing someones clothes to blow as if it was very windy, to even the back window of the car shattering. my point? the sound can cause things to move. it may not be enough force for u to feel it, but a flame is relatively sensitive to things like wind. well, if u simply breathe near a lighter the flames will violently flikker and may go out. so chances are as the priest got more pasionate, he got louder, causing the flames to flicker. and perhaps u thought they where egtting bigger, if they flickkered fast, but only a little. from a distance it could seem as if its just larger.

Sound travels by air molecules (or any molecules) bumping into each other. If you heard the sound chances are that the candles 'felt' it too. A rush of air from the sound wave would give the candle more fuel and it would burn brighter.

More emotion, more volume. More volume bigger sound wave. Bigger sound wave more air displaced. More air displaced bigger flame.
