It doesn't say no to homosexuals. That's how some ignorant theists interpret it however.

It's because Christians are against non-procreational sex and by definition, homosexuals practice non-procreational sex.

Re: Why does the bible say........
Does it really matter what the bible says about gays? It is just some human's opinion who is trying to masquerade his subjectivity by the proposition that he is close to some fictional creature, called God, as divine morality. Supposedly because this God created this world this morality is 'human nature' or how humans ought to behave. It is all just so some monotheistic theocrats can oust the Romans.

Re: Why does the bible say........
no it is some human's opinion that a race of homosexuals won't survive one generation, and if you're starting a nation on a planet where the idea is something new.
offspring are pretty important not only for the development of that nation, but also the longevity.
and it probably had a little something to do with stabilizing an environment, and realizing that if man is to truly set himself apart from the animals uninhibited sexuality that went on when groups of people lived under the same rock won't progress groups of people with individual families living under the same roof.
or would you have preferred civilization evolved like a herd of cattle?
where the bull has to be moved every now and then to prevent inbreeding or he'll just keep fucking whatever is nearby.

Why the taboo?
Huh?
Could there be any reason why for thousands of years homosexuality has been taboo?
Don't tell me about greece or non-reproductive sex.
Why do people hate homosexuals?

Re: Why does the bible say........
NO! it speaks of lesbianism as well (Romans 1:26) and the next verse details male homosexuality as well.
and if you wish to understand the context of the verse, start at the section of 'God's Wrath Against Mankind' (romans 1:18)
'...and recieved in themselves due penalty for their perversion." (romans 1:27)
and in romans 1:32, it says (word for word here): "Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."
believe me, there is plenty more where that came from.
not to sound brash, but it is the truth. the Bible DEFINATELY refuses homosexuals.

Re: Why does the bible say........
why the taboo,
because it's not natural to be purely homosexual.
there are bisexual creatures in nature, but man is the ONLY strictly homosexual creature.
and yes i'm talking about non-reproductive sex.
how long would mankind last if everybody was a homosexual?
i hate to sound like defiant exile, but it's a contradiction to life.
which is probably why most people, no matter what your religious background or ethnic background has looked upon homosexuals as "evil"(for lack of a better word), because of it's unnatural characteristics destroying the continuation of a species.

Re: Why does the bible say........
Perhaps homosexuality evolved as a recessive trait in humanity as sort of a natural population control?
Actually it hasn't been taboo for thousands of years. Leonardo DiVinci, Michaelangalo and many of the other great renaissance artist/scientists were gay. That's probably why they had so much time to do research and create, because they didn't have to worry about a family.

Re: Why does the bible say........
So the only argument you have against homosexuality is that it is non-reproductive and that if everyone was homosexual then the human race would die out? I can say the same thing about everyone using some sort of contraception. Contraception is unnatural by this thinking, yet it is pretty much accepted. But not everyone is using contraception so there is no danger, no worry, and nothing to not accept.
"How long would mankindlast if everybody was a homosexual?" The keyword here is *if*. Since, not everyone is homosexual there is no danger of the human race dying out from it. Homosexuality can slow down the population and that can even actually help.

i never said it was bad,
i just gave the reasons for it's dislike throughout the centuries.
one problem a gay man never has to encounter is whether or not his son is gay.

Re: Why does the bible say........
I didn't say that you said it was bad. I showed how those reasons are bullshit. It is ridiculous to not accept homosexuality and say it is unnatural. I'm heterosexual and if in the future I find that my son might be gay, it will not be a problem.

Re: Why does the bible say........
what would you think if you lived in a culture where your legacy is determined by your offspring.
and your only son to carry on the family name and legacy your family has built throughout the centuries was gay.
forget your 21st century politically correct attitude for one minute.
and i know you'd disapprove of it.

But we don't live in such a society. We live in a society where your legacy is based on what you do in your life, and how it affects the world you live in.

Re: Why does the bible say........
What jack said. And if my son was gay and I wanted my family to go on I can just have another kid. I wouldn't know the chances of the other being gay but I doubt it would be 2 in a row. Hell, may not even decide to have another kid because it's totally possible for my kid to be have a child of his/her own without the act of sex.
I don't have a politically correct attitude. I don't like political correctness. I think through things and I don't give out an opinion where it isn't a true opinion I have. I don't disapprove.
So what argument do you have now against homosexuality, other than that other people MAY have a problem with it? Because that can be fixed. That problem can go away with time and acceptance.

Leviticus 20:13. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. That sounds anti-gay to me

it clearly says NO to homosexuals in both Romans and Lev: Romans 1.27 "And for men were evil in their hearts for lusting one another" Lev not sure what chapter off hand) Men shall not lay down with Men and Women with Women" then it says something about men laying like sticks/kidle of fire. I believe this is where the term "Faggot" comes from. Faggots is defined as sticks tied together or something used as kindle. I Could be wrong. Many people have many explinations of where the term faggot orriginated from.

Re: Why does the bible say........
Sorry. I don't mean I would expect every single person to change their opinions just like that. But a lot of new people coming into a population will have different opinions and views than their elders do. And those people change the society gradually. You can still keep whatever your opinions and views are.
