A principle called the Anthropic Principle.

If the universe had developed any differently, if the earth had been any different, life wouldn't have evolved..

But we wouldn't be around to say.. 'Oh, that isn't perfect'

Just like those aliens that live on Mercury. Nice and perfect, there.

If it were different, you wouldn't beable to say what you just did. But that doesn't prove anything. it's just the way it is.

I never said any differant. Read my post on my views to see what i think about it all.

Point is, if god does exist, and he made man after his own image then all other lifeforms out there are after our image, assuming he made them after his own image. That also means that they are living on identical planets to ours, so that they can evole the same as us. To much gravity and they will be small, too much and they will be large etc. Same make up of the atmosphere so they can live.

Or did he make the originals after his own image and then put them on differant planets and we all evolved into differant races? And if god has put us on this planet for a reason, what reason did he put them on theirs for? and have they got a bible as well? Did they interpret it in the same way?

Lots of questions, not many answers.

Mantis

we put too much physical value in the word image, so that it means appearance.

i think he created us in the image of him in that we are able to dictate our own destiny;

free will to do as we please.
