A consensus
Im new and I have no idea what Gods Im claiming would yield to mine, so, if its not too childish and stupid of me, Id like to know the religious backgrounds of some of you. I dont really have one, Im just confused and torn between Gnosticism, Satanism, Latin Paganism, and atheism. I am a Fascist, and Fascism is a "spiritual community", if that counts for anything. I believe human spiritual evolution and dominion to be the ultimate goal and intention of our existence. Well...looking forward to any replies.

Re: A consensus
I beleive that catholiscism is the best choice for you. You have your cool rituals like communion (eating your own god) and baptism and, you've got a strong dogma and clerical structure, much like a fascist state while still sharing the same beleifs as hundreds of millions of people world-wide.

Re: A consensus
hey, instead of searching for a religion based upon what people tell you and what you think sounds good.
"if i tell people i am satanist, they will respect me and maybe i'll get a few friends; or they'll be afraid of me and i won't get pushed around anymore"
why don't you just live your life with what you've learned to believe, somebody will put a name to it.
i didn't know what i was until i came on the board; i just presented my beliefs;
and somebody replied saying,"you're a deist huh"

Re: A consensus
From dictionary.com:
Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
That's Christianity, or it least it was when they had total control over Europe and America (in other words, until the last century).
Listen to lostmind, though.. the more you try to label yourself, the more of a disservice you're doing to yourself.

No its not. Thats policy, Christianity is a movement of slaves against power. It elevates the weak, the atrophied, the defeated, and down-trodden to the level of God and casts the Masters out of their rightful place. It is a worldview Ive found sits best with religious Jews, rape victims, and people who were neglected or abused as children. Fascism is a dictatorship with rather loose economic controls that renounces the lie that the majority should rule based on numbers alone. Never will volume decide history, it is an illusion Democracies use to keep the people placid and loyal. Denying this would be very very sad of you. Fascism renounces the idea that priests and academics can define what "should" be based on Jewish folk-tales or selfish pacifism alone. It is an organic and natural view of the world, not just economics and politics. Thats why I said it was my religion. You use the words belligerent, Nationalist, and Racist like they are bad. Where in history has anyone other than aggressive and disciplined people with tribal loyalties triumphed?

Re: A consensus
A lot of Facism is based on Nietcheze (however you spell his f*cking name I can't remember) philosophies, which are very good, but would be described as Nilism I think the best way to describe this (not religion) but way of thinking is you don't believe in anything but yourself, it kind of makes you god....because you control what is right and wrong. If in your head murder is okay too you then it is right. It is actually a pretty good philosophy, gets rid of guilt and other useless qualities.
Anyways I thought I'd let you try that one out!?

Would you, or anyone, care to point out the major differences? I've never found any. In the end, it's all about how people use the religion, not the religion itself, so I guess it doesn't matter..

Re: A consensus
All you are Idiotic for trying to define the differences and similaritys in christianity and fascism. What you need to realize, is that both destroy humanity, cause the opression of people and ideas. Both are a brutal use of force for control.
Personally i grew up in a Southern Baptist Family. I soon went and tried to find my place amond different doctines such as Jewsish, Muslum, Protostent, Chatholic, Buddist, Hindu, Satanism, Paganism, and many others.
I found that in "almost" every one that thay have a moral standard that is pretty much standard between religions. although specific stuff was different in each. I also found that most you their doctrines and ideas for uses other that good. So i am now An Atheist, I do not believe in a god, prove other-wise. I am also Agnostic, I feel that religion is a detriment to society, and our children. I do however have my own morals, and ethics, Most of which came from Buddism. I do not follow the religion, but i just simply take advice on healthy living.
There is no reason in arguing whether your religion is the "right" one because if you believe it then that is all that matters. You dont have to prove it to others. Do not push religion on people. they Push back!

Christianity is the renunciation of force and control. Jesus said the meek will inherit the Earth. Do meek people conquer, purge, and "oppress" people? No, they get kicked around and shit on. Christianity is not a religion, its an excuse, its saying, "Good, who wants women anyway? Why would I want to win, then I cant be close to God!" Anyone who cant see through that kinda shit has problems. Catholocism, and practical Christianity, obviouisly renounces such falsehoods, because they are unnatural and undesirable. The Catholic Church is more like the Cult of Jupiter than anything, replacing the Thunderbolt Hammer with the Cross, and adding some sexual discipline. The rest is all about Gold and Glory and Dominion. Thats anti-Jesus. And whats wrong with crushing and brutalizing people? You jackasses are talking like your too good for nature. I dont understand how Nature can exist for an infinity before you, and will continue infinitely after you, and you think IT is wrong and your made-up baseless morality is right. Explain this to me.

Re: A consensus
I definitly Agree with you on that, but the bible gives the people an excuse to do harm to others.
Frankly I am an anarchist. (not the blow shit up kind). I believe that every one is an induvidual and if someone wants to be brutal and try and take my freedoms away, thats wrong.
I have no idea what your point is about nature. so i have no debate on that.
but christianity, and other religions, are a waste of time and space. they serve only to better themselves.

Re: A consensus
redrover. you are saying that the roman catholic church is anti-semetic because they killed Christ?!?!
first (i assume you are a fellow christian), we are ONE in Christ. yes, we worship in a different way, but what it boils down to is a strong belief in the trinity.
second, it was a prophesy that Jesus was to be crucified. to label a specific institution as a 'Christ killer' is silly. God willed it. Its as simple as that. and if that be true, does the phrase 'Thy (God's) will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..' hold much weight in your eyes?
that angered me, particularly to see a fellow christian looking down on his brothers for being part of God's plan.

No it doesnt. The New Testament, thats the Christian gay part, gives people an excuse NOT to harm people. Sorry fellas, but harm and pain and death and aggression are part of your make-up, theyre here to stay, and theyre even good and useful. Problem is, they all require a little courage, so Christianity, by design for cowardly slaves, said these things were wrong. Anything it takes courage to do or admit is wrong to Christ.

Re: A consensus
So all of these passages and more have nothing to do with inflicting pain and killing innocent people.
if you want more i have more. (e.g. rape of women, eating children, and more)
"And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made the man." (Genesis 9:5-6)
"And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain." (Deuteronomy 2:34)
"And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Hesbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities we took for a prey to ourselves." (Deuteronomy 3:6-7)
"Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place." (Deuteronomy 12:2-3)
"And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.'" (Numbers 25:3-4)

Those are old testament, ass. Christianity only uses that, incorrectly, as a history lesson. Their morality comes from the New Testament.

Re: A consensus
There is no difference between Christianity and Catholicism. Christianity represents all the people who follow the teachings of Christ.
Catholicism is an organized religion with a few hundred million members world wide. We have a precise dogma and are lead by a leader in Rome. We belive in the absence of sin in the virgin Mary and have many ceremonies and rituals. Our priests have to follow strict rules like celibacy. Because they are so well organized and everybody in the religion is responsible for the views of the church, they are easy targets on issues like homosexuality and cloning. That's why the Pope has asked for forgiveness because of the inquisition.
Christianity also describes the other sects like the protestants, Lutherans, Anglicans, Jehovah's witnesses and etc. who aren't organized into diocese and whatnot. Although they have broad moral guidelines based exclusively on a bible written 1,500 years after Jesus was born, individual ministers have their own opinions on things, which, in some intenses, lets real wackos decide on moral matters (e.i. many American states not allowing their children to learn about evolution or how about "-"). They also do not believe that you need to do good acts to get into heaven, only need to faith in Jesus.

Thats not true. Protestants and Catholics will always be different, dogma or not. Catholics are more humanist, and a lot of Catholic teaching, even though it instills guilt, leads to more "sinning" because of pennance. There is no pennance in Protestant churches. Then theres the hierarchal structure of Catholic thinking, as opposed to localized Republic like thinking of Protestants.

Re: A consensus
The problems in northern Ireland aren't because of religion. For the past few hundred years, the English have thought of the Irish as sub-human drunks. Even today, in many towns in northern Ireland, the right to vote in municipal elections is limited to land owners, meaning that the irish catholic, who are often the poorer segments of the population and often rent their appartments and houses, can't vote. When the Irish Catholics tried to start a civil rights mouvement like the black people in the United States, the English braught in paratroopers to shoot down demonstrators like on bloody sunday on the 30th of june of 1972. It's not a religious issue, but purely a racial issue.

Races define themselves with different religions all the time though. How come its only a Racial issue to you people when its Nordic people's fault? When blacks gang-rape Whites, its economic. When Whites pay negroes shit, its racial...I dont get it.

i also recall a clip in monty pythons the meaning of life, that summed up the differences between the catholic and the protestants in northern ireland.

Re: A consensus
Of course the conflict in Northern Ireland does have religious aspects because it does devide the Irish, who are predominantly catholic, and the englsih who are protestants, but it's basically a political war. It's not preists who are leading the fight, but politicians.
