i went to a christian youth group the other night, the subject was on love and sex. the pastor claimed that "lustin" while married was a sin and you would be exiled from heaven to hell. God loves everyone right? why would he send you to hell for something that a lot of times you dont even realize is going on? this is not the only stupid reason for going to hell, and i am sure that the rest of you antichristians have noticed the same thing.....

Hey Kraelon or reasonable facsimile..I think that if GOD ever says something to you you're gonna know. In the mean time tell of who it is that you trust to listen to when it comes
to higher thoughts or lower thoughts too for that matter. If you're basing you whole take on GOD and creation and all on a book, then
somebody is telling you their version, tell us who it is that you like to listen to and believe, because laughing at you just wouldn't be very rewarding, Is Wisconsin brown or green where you live? I think lake Ontario looks like the edge of the world from an airplane.

To me I don't have a problem with their believing whatever they like and take more satisfaction from the notion that there will be t-shirts in heaven that say "Hey!....don't I know you from somewhere"

Although, I'd like to think of myself as pretty devoted to God, I have to admit that I find a lot of the Bibles teachings... out of date. A lot of the sexual and marital laws in the Bible were relevent - at the time. And still are, in a way.

They were mostly to keep a woman or man from spreading disease. Of course, there were other reasons. But, most of them weren't so much as for love and such things since most people were married out of financial agreements between two families. People just didn't marry out of love back then, very often.

And I see your point. Why would God condemn someone for doing something they don't even know they're doing? Mostly, I try to find the middle road with the Bible. Take it for what's relevent today, and not worry so much about it. Because I think God has better things to do than smite the horny.

I find it hard to follow the whole "Hell" theory
I think that if christianity is a religion based on forgiveness then eternal damnation and servitude is a dated concept.
I also do feel that the whole forbidden lust buisiness is less relevant than it was back then.

So there shouldn't be any devine retributions for all the bad things I've done on earth?

While i agree that the moto: "Love and do everything he wants, or go to hell" Is stupid i wanted to point something out. The seven deadly sins (one of which is lust) are nowhere in the bible. In the 1500's (i think) a man (whos name i cant remember off of the top of my head) wrote something called the bible 2. In this bible were the seven deadly sins. Almost everything from that book has dissapeared in our society, except thoes sins. One could argue that lust is against the flee from temptation, but i really dont care enough.. Ok, im going to bead because i have been getting 3 hours of sleep for the past two days (why am i telling you this?).

i don't think you should go to heaven for individual sins. a hot girl is a hot girl, and it's male nature to lust after her. i think the whole heaven/hell (for those who believe it) is or should be based more on intentions. i think i'm a good person. generally i try to do good and help people. i do things that are expressly forbidden in the bible, but the bible is old. i'll avoid the position that the world is full of evil, because evil is subjective. but people KNOW what good and bad is. and you either live one way or the other. it's that simple.

and just for psycho_8b: have you ever read the bible? it's not just about following god, it's about leading a good life. which i'm all for. i don't read it, but i don't think i need it as much as you do. oh wait, you just said how much you hate people saying things like this. so sorry. but i'm not one of those "FUCKING CHRISTIANS", i'm just a person trying to do good.
