Re: blaa
My personal belief is that God didn't come from anywhere and isn't really anything. Not to say He doesn't exist. Just that He's more like a power than an entity that was ever anything in any form. More like nature, or night, or day. Those kinds of things. He was just another one, and the one where all those things originated.
God created everything from nothing and that's why He's the almight creator. He's completely self sufficient. He has no form and isn't anything organic. So, He never needed to be created or come from anything. He just exists.

Re: blaa
how did inanimate matter become a self-replicating living organism?
and what was the matter that went through this transformation?
some people are so caught up in beginnings and endings that nothing can just be anymore.
with the exception of the statements made above which nobody seems to care about and just accept.

If this God isn't really anything...then why do you refer to it as a He?

It's either He or She. The English language doesn't give me much to work with.
Also, to lostmind: right on. Krae, you are a conformist.

Re: blaa
it's kind of funny though for millenia the church went along with a universe that always existed with no moment of creation.
only in the last 50 years did the big bang give the idea of creation having it's own moment; like the words they preached.
and only in the last 10 years did the proving of the big bang get the church behind it.
maybe in the next 10 years with the mapping of the human genome we'll shove this farce called evolution back in the 1800's where it belongs.

Re: blaa
I believe everything has always existed. The Big Bang was an event and it has always existed. It's not really significant.

Re: blaa
there *was* this really cool site (it sux hard now) that explaided a really unique (to me anyway) idea about creation - I'll try to give it justice and tell you ppl. here goes:
start with the present -life on earth is evolving. -humans get more and more intellegent. -society starts to achieve a oneness over time. -people evolve to be able to communicate through thought. -earth, and it's inhabitants grow to a global oneness and perfection. -all planets like earth do the same
assume for a moment that God IS the universe, and since we exist in the universe then we are not only a part of God, but we ARE God - each and every one of us are a cell - a *brain cell* to be more exact - in a near infinitely large brain known to us as the universe.
-All cells (me, you, and beings alien to earth) evole to higher states, some before others, some faster than others. -Ultimately we are all capable of existing as physical energy, and states similar to chemical thought. -we are where we want to be in the universe -we do what is constructive -we wish to better ourselves, and others
...we achieve perfection -God is perfect now. -The universe can get no better than what it is. This means complete, and utter boredom for the giant brain. So with nothing left to do with itself, it destroys itself so it can do it again.
The only fault in this reasoning is the "chicken or the egg" principle, other than that it's not bad.

Re: blaa
You're fucking idiot, Sed. I'm a Jew! I AM using fucking logical thought and I am making a fucking point about Christianity because unlike you I can open my mind and understand where other people are coming from. I can even ADVOCATE for them with out being one of them. I can speak out for somebody other than myself and MY petty beliefs.
He IS a fucking conformist. He acts like everyone should be like him, think like him, live like him or they are being stupid or doing is all wrong. Well, he can FUCK OFF with his GAP khakis and his Blink 182 teeny bopper punk rock bullshit.
You can suck MY cock bitch! I'll jam it down your throat 'till you choke, hound.
Do not fuck with me.
