I am religious. You are not religious. I don't rub my beliefs in your face. Why do you have to rub yours in mine?

We can share opinions freely here. But, that doesn't mean we get to tell everyone that they're wrong and you're right whenever you feel like it.

We're all different and may be it's just your point of view.

Im confused, are you saying the government made religion? Hence, "religion was formed to control us." I can think a few religions which are anti-government... Read the Tao Te Ching (#17 is a good example). Are you saying religion is our morals projected in a religious form? If so, why does leviticus and deuteronomy have numerous laws which are obeyed by Jewish people, that have no relation to morals. Are you saying religions imposes its morals on us? What about Stain worshiping? Its our morals put into a religion... Would you please elaborate, im really confused...

Now if government created religion to control the masses, why isn't their more theocracies in the world? Why aren't there countries ruled by the catholic church for example. And I repeat my question, what's so bad about believing in morals, as opposed to laws.

And as for stain worshipping, what type of stains are worshipped? Blood, mustard, wine?

actually the catholic church did hold power over a great many countries in europe(rome, spain, and england; to name a few).

it actually wasn't until the birth of america that seperation of church and state became a plausible idea; for "western" cultures anyway.

ya know....this a really weird conversations but why do you need to care about anyone's religion but your own...i mean you not living their life and if you right you wont see them cuz they are going to hell and you up in heaven (substitute for any relgious belief..im not is a good state of mind to think of another)......you can argue with them if they are the same type of relegion but arguing with different systems of beliefs will get you know where....mind your own god damn buisness

he doesn't need my money.

my god is not vain.
he doesn't need my worship.

my god is not lustful.
he wouldn't descend to earth to impregnate a woman promised to another man.

my god is not vengeful.
he wouldn't punish you for eternity for what you've done in life which can be rationalized.

if putting money in the collection plate and hearing a man(that's right a man) tell you killing people is wrong and if you do you shall suffer for all eternity in a lake of fire is what you need to be a good citizen then by all means religion is a good thing.

my god is full of common sense though; and he instilled this cherish virtue in all the creatures he created.

some are just too ignorant to see it.

that's some god a lot of people believe in.
