Default question on other religions of earth...

Alright we all know, or well most of us, that the word hell comes from pagan culture which we adopted it and put it in out bible to fit the good and evil ratio. Also in the old bibles hell was based on what it meant in the language, the reason why i think they didn't put it down for other reasons is because there's dfifferent explanations. For the pase 100+ years in the dictionary christians haved put what they believe hell is in the back of the dictiomnary, but if you read the untranslated bible in the middle east, i don't think you'd see that. Um anyway, my question is, in all the other religions including budhaism, judaism, hinduism etc. Do they have a explanation of hell, that supports out hell and has the same definition?

well, i dont know much about judaism. but hinduism believes in reincarnation as a type of 'punishment'. if you perfect yourself you will 'dissolve into god' and if not you will be reincarnated to try again. so i guess their hell would be like reincarnation on to earth again.

buddhism just says that if you travel the 8-fold path, you will reach nirivana.. which is 'perfect state'. but its not like heaven cause its on earth kinda. so their hell would kinda be like earth i guess.

shintoism doesnt take a stance on goodness/bandess i dont think - its just all about revering nature. and as i said i know diddley-squat about judaism.

does that answer anything?

maybe reincarnation could be punishment? but i think lving on earth is punishment enough. But didn't adam get reincarnated and a few others in the bible? and maybe that's how lucifer got thrown down from heaven because he tried to walk the 8 fold path to become god, he tried and got punished for it.
