Though I have few kind words for George W., I'd definitely say he's far from a "hillbilly." He's one smooth political operator, and he knows precisely what the American people want to hear. The last man to underestimate Bush lost the election by 537 votes.

What kind of argument is this? America is like any country, it has its ups and downs.

ok then,lets look at Europes PERFECT human rights record,hmmmmm the crusades,the inquizition,bringing slavery to America(dutch slave traders),the holocaust,imperialism....

And judging by the fact that Europeans gained much of there wealth from basically enslaving most of the world through imperialism, I think that the USA has a much better "human rights record" after all we are only 200 years old...

Simply because we happen to have a better economy or a better standard of living, does that allow us to force that "superior" way of life on others?? No. I bash not america, I bash american policies, namely the foreign one.

They only did to the Native Americans what their ancestors had done. After the first year Europeans came here, they were killing Native Americans left and right.

Your definition of better might not be the same as everyone elses.

I'm sure Bhutan thinks they are the best country in the world. They don't have oil and gas based agriculture that will collapse unless some miracle happens (free oil for ever gas or an amazing amount of electricty production built in a very short time). They have stong family values and social cohesion and little problem with illegal immigrants. And they will all eventually reach Nirvana.

Not that I want to live there, just trying to demonstrate that best is relative.
